dog sitting?

How much would I charge for dog sitting from tonight until Monday afternoon?? I see someone needing it but I just don't know how much to charge. Can anyone help me?

I know how much to charge for a child but that is different I guess.

Let's compare it to childcare since we are all so far away I guess

I used to dog/house sit when I was a pet groomer. I never gave them a price, but I usually got around $50-100 a weekend for one house plus a gift (nice candle or some other knick nack) for staying at their homes and watching their pets. It really was great extra money, especially since I was newly married and in college at the time.
One of my co-workers house sat for us a couple of times. We paid her $20 per day to stay there. She came and went during the day following her usual daily routine and stayed there overnight. In fact, she had a party once and Truman was the hit of the party, that little dog! :P
Our dog sitter who stayed overnight charged $40 a day. I've been told that is a good rate for our Chicago suburban area. She didn't even leave the house! I told her she could go out and run errands, but she stayed the WHOLE time.
We paid a kennel $24 for a night for 2 dogs, I think it was $18 for 1 dog. They got daycare or walks.

This past spring we went away for the weekend, and hired our neighbour girl to do the job. She was paid $20 a day for two dogs...she was expected to come first thing in the am, let them out to pee.

Depending on the weather they could stay outside or inside our house. She was to walk them both at least once, play with them, feed them etc...take Tag to obedience one night.

Then one last pee at night, and put them to bed.

She was also keeping care of our guniea pig, and 2 cats.

We also gave her a nice card and chocolates, with her money.
i've had two experiences. The first I had was with a professional pet sitter. She was great, but her prices got too high. For two dogs she was charging me $16 per visit, so with 3 visits a day = 48. Yes she did stay for a half hour (well I'm told) to play. But after awhile I could no longer afford it. So after one time when I needed a babysitter for my sisters son visiting, I found out he, who is 16, loved dogs, and would love to baby sit the dogs. I could rely on him because he needed rides to let them out from his mother whom I know. Anyway, I paid him 8 per visit. He also stayed to play, etc. The last time I went out of town from Thursday afternoon until Monday afternoon I gave him $90, but a neighbor also helped out with 4 of those visits. So basically I gave him around $9-10 per visit. Make sense.....
I have paid $20/per day in the past...but have not used recently.
i get paid $50/night for a dog and a cat, but they are pretty wealthy
I do in-house boarding for $27 a nite (my house). For price comparisans, a kennel here will charge $18 to $25 a nite for boarding.
