eBay and PayPal (eBark-PayPaw) are a greedy evil company now

I sell a group of a retail product using eBark every so often, usually around the $500 mark, and I've been waiting for a while so I have two lots now that I could list... The reason I haven't sold lately is a new policy that eBark/PayPaw put into place- They force you to upgrade to a "Business" or "premier" PayPaw account if you want to accept PayPaw on eBark. Actually, they don't even allow you to mention PayPaw if you won't accept all forms of payment, including credit cards which require the upgrade.

Of course once you upgrade, PayPaw <del>steals</del>- er.... takes a 3% fee on ANY monies you receive, whether they come from credit cards, or someone else's PayPaw balance, or whatever.

Since I was paying about 3% ($16+) for them to list the item for a few days on a website, I thought that was plenty of money, and didn't wanna fork over another $15 in PayPaw fees.

They actually PULLED MY LISTING OFF after about 1 day because I had mentioned PayPaw and said "funded from your balance. I only have a personal account. Sorry, but if you fund by credit card I'll have to deny your payment." They said they were doing it to "ensure a level playing field." Bulloney, they did it to take 2X the fees into their company. (Just to mention and to clarify, eBark bought PayPaw a while back.)
I may cave someday, but for right now, I'm just building inventory and watching the retail price increase. :D

Maybe I'll try Craig's List. Anyone else ever sell anything using Craig's List? How can you be sure of finding a "safer" transaction? like on eBark?

By the way, as you can tell I'm not using the real names of eBark and PayPaw on purpose... I really am quite peeved at them, they are now officially a greedy, evil company in my mind.

Hey! Interesting that you posted this Ron. I have inherited a boatload
of stuff, and I was just thinking about going to them with it.
It really is a lot of stuff. Like Vic said, we are measuring the linens
in tonnage.
Never even checked out Craig's list, actually never heard of it. I
guess it's a place to start. I'll let you know what I think after I check
it out.
My friend's son sells on ebay for a living, and he makes a great
living at it. Don't know what he thinks about all the changes. Maybe I'll
find out what he says too.
I'd really like to sell this stuff, but I don't want to overpay the middleman,
or have any hassles either. Selling my Mom's things is hard enough
in itself.

I have sold a couple things on craigslist but it is hard for me since I am in such a small town and nobody wants to drive to come and get it.
How does this affect a buyer???

I've never sold anything and probably won't but I have bought video games and overall it was a good experience.

Except for one person, way overcharged on shipping fees...and would not lower her price.
On another topic, if you are looking to offload or obtain items in your rea for free, go to www.freecycle.org. I've had a lot of success.
yeah, freecycle is great. I use it everyday.
Depending on what you are selling, you might try Amazon. I love selling on Amazon because there are no listing fees and they handle collecting the payments for you. But it has to be the kind of thing that Amazon ordinarily sells.
BTW, I checked out Craigs list. I have to say, I am not at all
impressed. I have also asked several friends now and nobody
seems to have heard of it. I would guess if there isn't
enough exposure, your selling chances aren't as great.
Oh well.

I found Peanut's new owners through Craigslist.
I had never heard about it until my Best friend told me about it.
I currently have a bed for sale on there. Only got one response in the two weeks it's been listed. It's a really good deal too. :?
craigslist is WAY popular. I've been to several job interviews because of posts on it and my brother sold his couch through them. It isn't available in every city, so that might be why some people haven't heard of it, and some cities have better listings than others...
