Petunia is home with us!!

Kaye was able to ship Petunia to us form Dallas while the weather was cool. We picked her up from the airport and it was love at first sight. Granted she looked nothing like the old baby photos we kissed every night her face was the sweetest and we bonded immediately.

We decided to keep the name Petunia but rearrange the letters and call her Pita for short. She responds to her name and enjoys playing the name game with freeze-dried chicken. Pita is calm, happy, knows to sit for food and for going out the door. She is already potty trained never had an accident in the house, and gives you kisses after she goes potty.

As you can tell from the pictures she has a fawn colored body with black tips. I think they black will fall out and she'll become a sheepie with fawn markings but looks cute nevertheless... We don't care because her personality makes up for anything! She looks like a sheepie and acts like a sheepie and that's what we wanted....

But she sure looks like she'll be one giant sheepie. She's got long legs and already very big for a sheepie her age. I've posted bunch of pictures so when they are approved you can see how adorable she is.

We are crazy because of packing and getting ready to move down to Houston. I do come online to read your stories and keep up but rarely have a chance to reply and enjoy forum activities.... :(

but please stay tuned for more adventures of Pita as she'll be fully vaccinated in 3 weeks for our road trip down to Houston!!!

Awwww! What a cutie-pie... I'm so glad the weather cooperated. Her coloring is like Kaye's Joe Bob at that age (bottom-right picture at http://secondchanceoesrescue.net/joe_bob.htm )

Good luck with the move.

Petunia was brought into a vet's office with her brother by a girl when she was a day or two old. The girl claimed that these two puppies were the smallest of the litter and thought they weren't going to survive. Kaye took them in and nursed them day and night till they were given a nod of survival. Desperate to save Petunia's life, Kaye didn't even think to dock her tail. She grew stronger eating a combination of goat milk, goat yogurt, honey and raw egg..

After a week later Petunia was joined by her 6 brothers and sisters that were brought into the vet's office because the mother dog couldn't nurse them. Kaye took the puppies and could tell that some of them looked like a boarder collie mix. Petunia had light grey coat as a baby but soon grew fawn colored coat underneath... but she looks and acts like a sheepie.

Petunia was the first to do everything!
She was the first to crawl out of the pen, give lots of affection and kisses.
She was the sweetest and the most docile of them all.
She never played rough, growled or snapped. If things got rough she'd back away and lie under the tree. She just wanted to be loved. Even if the big doggies would snap at her she'd crawl slowly near them till she could get the affection she deserves. She even let a baby pig Daisy mae sleep on top of her!

We fell in love with Petunia with one look at her face. We knew she was the one for us. No other pretty gorgeous pure bred puppies appealed to us as she did. Because our move to Houston got postponed to end of September, we asked Kaye to ship Petunia to DC because we didn't want to miss out on her puppy hood. We are beyond satisfied with our decision because she's been nothing short of Super Excellent!!!
She's such a beauty!! :hearts: What an expressive face! Congratulations!! :clappurple:
CONGRATULATIONS! She is absolutely adorable.

Chipper sends sheepie hugs and kisses!!!!

Keep us posted.
