We had an interesting encounter this morning. I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but my backyard pond sprung a major leak. Since it is almost fall, rather then going out and buying a preform, we decided to move the fish and plants indoors for the cold weather, and we'll re-do the area next spring. So I've got the "pond" setup in a kiddie pool in the little bedroom.

I went in this morning to feed the goldfish and check on the dehumidifer. (Having a kiddie pool in a bedroom causes a lot of humidity!) I usually try to keep Pippin out of that room, because he feels the pond is his own private giant water bowl. He was being sneaky this morning though, and managed to get in behind me.

I fed the fish and saw the little calico come out for some food. There are 2 goldfish up there, the calico, and the much shyer red and white. I wasn't surprised not to see the red and white out, and she normally hides until I leave. Next I emptied the dehumidifer, noticing while I did so that Pip had grabbed something in his mouth and hightailed it downstairs. Typical behavior for him, whenever he finds a new "toy" to play with, espcially when he knows it's something he shouldn't have.

I finished up in the bedroom, closed the door behind me and went downstair to see what manner of naughtiness Pippin had got himself into now. I see him over on "his" red bean bag chair tossing something up and down. I get up closer and....

EGADS! PIPPIN HAS A MUMMY!!!!

Yes, Pippin had managed to steal the dessicated corpse of my red and white goldifsh who must have jumped from the mini pond at some time the previous day. Crying or Very sad I carefully removed the mummified fish from Pip's possesion and gave it a decent funeral.

Now I only have one goldfish Crying or Very sad
ROTFLMAO. Typical!!!
Sorry about the dead fish. Sad
Tell Pip I said... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Oh my! Good thing you caught him before he tried to 'bury' it himself! Shocked How do you keep your cats away from the fish?
Pip obviously has sophisticated taste - fresh dead fish! Laughing
The kitty girls are very good with all of our fish. They don't even go into the room with the mini pond. While Crash loves to sit on top of our 50 gallon aquarium, she never hunts the fish. She is content to just watch them (oh yeah, and drink the aquarium water... which drives my sister nuts! Laughing ) Iris and Bell could really care less.

Yes. Pippin is quite the gormand- cat doo, dead fish, nasty kleenex Twitchy Mmm Mmm good!
LMAO!! Laughing

My husband has been bugging me for a pond. I'll show him this post to see if I can persuade him otherwise!!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my outdoor pond. We just needed to get a better, non hand me down liner for it Smile
LMAO!!!
Funny, Karen!! Your boy and his mischievious ways! Laughing
