Dixie Update

This little girl is the love of my life. She is so fun, and brave, and makes us laugh every day. :hearts:

Stacey (Willowsprite) and I determined through her tatoo that she was born sometime early 2005. She was seized by the SPCA in Dec 2005, and we got her in Feb 2006 already adult looking, but at barely 1 year old no wonder she was so active and energetic.

This is great news for us....

Her health is fine, although she still breaks out the odd time. Not big patches or raw skin, but only little sores, about the size of a finger-nail, so very manageable. And normally she hardly scratches at all.
I was brushing her today and find her a bit pudgy, so her food will be reduced accordingly. She will not be impressed.

Behavior-wise, she now relaxes around a lot but is still very attentive to us. She LOVES attention from people but is not demanding of it. She kind of hangs around politely and then wiggles her nub like crazy when getting pats or kisses. We do not trust her with small children or non-doggy folks as she can easily mis-read signals and can scare easily or think "playtime" at the wrong times.

We still have lots to learn together but it is a very pleasant journey we are on.

What a great update!
Dixie looks simply gorgeous. :)
It was meant to be! :)
She came a long way to be with you, and even though in the beginning it wasn't for sure her forever home, it seems to have worked out for the best for all involved :)
AWESOME your progress with Dixie and everytime you post about her has been just wonderful. The journey with dixie since she entered your lives has been all inspiring seeing this girl blossom and bloom under your special TLC.

She is looking so pretty too with her fluffy coat and has the most gorgeous dark eyes. :hearts:

Just so precious :D
If she didn't have the yellow dots in her eyes from the flash - that picture looks like an oil painting. That is one of the best pictures I have seen of a sheepie. You must be so proud! She has come so far and is such a cutie.
Having met Dixie I can say she is one of the sweetest and best behaved girls I've ever seen. Great job Nicole and Don!
Dixie is such a beautiful girl.. I love looking at her face.. it always looks so happy.
I just love her face. She's such a beauty!

She has come such a long way! It makes me smile every time I see her or think of her journey. I agree, it was meant to be. She's definitely "your girl"!! :D
Dixie really is such a gorgeous little doll! :hearts: I LOVE that picture of her! And I'm SO glad she's where she belongs, with you! (Told ya!!)
She really does have a beautiful face.
