What do you play fetch with?

Jasper loves playing fetch, and the boys love throwing him the ball, so that works out perfectly. Only problem is Jasper destroys all the balls. We've tried tennis balls, baseballs (I never knew they had small hard balls in the middle of them - lol), those plastic t-ball balls, and he has ruined them all. Are there any good indestructible balls (or anything else to play fetch with) out there?

Bailey loves tennis balls. He's great at the "fetch" part, not so good at the "return" part LOL!

We find that real tennis balls last longer than pet store tennis balls, although given enough time he'll tear the real ones apart too. I just recently bought a toy from a company called Ruffwear that is supposed to be indestructible - so far so good.
At Petco/Petsmart, they have balls made for tough chewers. They're supposed to be the "indestructible" ball. We also have a ball ...a little bigger than a watermelon. It's Yuki's FAVORITE. Got it at Petco. She plays soccer with it ALL the time ...with or without us.
I've been buying the same ball that is guaranteed to last last for at least 30 days or your money back. It doesn't so I keep taking it back and getting new ones. I call it my ball exchange program.
None of my dogs will play fetch anymore :(

LOL
Murphy and Dudley want to know what fetch is????..... is that the game where Mom throws the orange hockey ball.. we look at her like she is nuts.. then she goes and gets it?????

If that's fetch.. we like watching Mom play that game...

Lol...Barney LOVES that game too! :D
Pip likes that one too... but is a bigger fan of soccer... where mom kicks the ball, he runs to it, then runs back to mom, and mom kicks it again! Lots of fun... and the balls have such a nice long shelf life
LOL Jasper would play fetch ALL the time if we let him. It gets to be a pain sometimes, because he just won't stop nagging you about it. He'll get the ball, and start nudging your hand with his head until you give in to him.

Sounds like we need to make a trip to Petsmart this weekend. Hopefully, they'll have something there after the drive up there. :)
Izzie plays "run" with her tennis balls. She holds one in her mouth. Melissa and I stand a distance apart and throw/roll/bounce two other balls back and forth. Izzie just runs back and forth chasing the ball we are throwing. It is a great way to drain her of excess energy. We just use tennis balls...they last awhile because there is no chewing involved. Her soccer ball is another story. She loves to chew on that.

Those orange hocky balls are amazing. I would suggest you try to pick up some of those to try. They are a very hard, tough rubber, but hollow so the dog can still grip and squeze it.

I don't care for the tennis balls, too much, as the cloth absorbs their saliva, and will dry thier mouth out fast in the summer, when they need to pant. Plus they are just YUCKY when wet.
My dogs both like balls, they have Vinyl balls and neither one of them had tried to destroy them.
How about some Latex toys for fetch? They seem to be the toys that last the longest.
We play fetch with the Jolly "Romp N Roll".
It comes in 6" and 8". It is semi hard and has a heavy rope thourgh it. So far Mojo has not been able to do any damage to it. I don't think you can get the distance you would with a tennis ball but, you can sling it pretty far. The rope makes it nice for tug of war too. I think it is Mojo's favorite toy.
Here is a link to see what it is. I got ours at Petsmart and I think you can even get them on Amazon.

Get the KONG ball, it hasn't changed abit on us.

However Remy plays fetch with whatever is available. She is fond of the rope bone with the ball in the middle...she loves to tease and play tug as well, and then fetch.
We use rope toys or stuffed toys. They like to run and get them but they aren't good at returning them.

LOL... That's very funny!

We play fetch with basically anything that's trowable. Our shepies bolt to retrieve it. Taking it from them is the tricky part
Chipper loves his Hurl-A-Squirrel and has not destroyed it- we have had for over 2 months.... I like it because it is like a "frisbee" and it goes far...
