Does Annie Have a Cold?

We are both home with colds and I'm wondering if Annie has one too. Steve is taking her to he vet this morning as he feels a little bit better than me today.

Annie has been sneezing a lot for the past week and for a few days now, Steve has heard and watched her do this reverse sneezing thing especially while eating. It's almost like she's choking. I witnessed it today for the first time and said, "She's got to go to the vet!"

The technician kind of laughed when I called because Foz was just there last week after his bout of puking. We'll be back again next Monday for Foz to be neutered. I suppose this is what it's like having two kids, huh? Either you're sick or they're sick 8O I'll keep you posted!

Hope it's nothing serious! Maybe she has allergies?
Good luck, keep us posted. Hope all of you feel better!
I hope she's ok!
The vet said that Annie's heart and lungs sounded good and thinks that Annie picked up whatever Foz may have had the other week when he was puking. She's to take the antibiotic Cephalexin 3 times a day. Hopefully, this will help her get better and to also be in a better mood. She hasn't been nice to Foz since this sneezing thing started and we're tired of "monitoring" her behavior.
Hope she feels better soon! :)
(and you!:))
I hope she gets better soon - way to nip it in the bud!
Stacy, we are in Maryland and we have had an outbreak of kennel cough in our area. In fact all of the kennels have closed for a few days and bleached their facilities, 2 are on their second bout. Kennel cough vacinations are required by our boarder every 6 months and they've had cases. They use our vet for their personal pets and he has cultured several dogs in his practice and it is a strain of the virus not covered by the vaccine.
I've been pretty anal about this since hearing the news. We are leaving on vacation Monday and Chauncey is spending the week with our vet. I know in reality he could pick up something from a dog in the neighborhood just as easily, I just fell better if he's living with the vet.
Wow! 8O

You won't believe it..it seems that the grooming gave Foz ear infections in both ears now I have some Otomax left over from Annie a few months ago. The vet's office will think I'm nuts when I call them tomorrow after Steve just taking Annie there today for her cough...when it rains it pours
Stacy,

Just a tip that I learned since our dogs go to the groomers at least every other week. Have your groomer put a large cotton ball in the dog's ears prior to bathing. They will do it at no extra charge and it keeps the water from getting deep in the ear. I learned this from my vet & my groomer.
Thanks, Wynette. We've been going to the same groomer for over 3 years with Annie. She has never come back with an ear infection. I would've thought they know to put a cotton ball in ALL dogs' ears. A different groomer cut Foz and I was assured by Annie's groomer who is also the manager that this other person was wonderful. I called this morning and spoke with the woman who actually groomed him. She apologized.
