Ryan's coming home tomorrow

Well it's been a nice quiet summer and I have certainly enjoyed having a low stress level, but it ends tomorrow.
Ryan's flight arrives at 2:30pm.
He will be staying at my Mom's house tomorrow. Then Wednesday my sister is taking him to Disney Land and wants to stay until the fireworks (closing time). So he will stay over Wednesday and most likely Grandma and Grandpa will drive him home on Thursday.

Ryan always wants to stay with Grandma & Grandpa when he gets home. He just adores Grandma. He calls her "My Sweetheart" He calls my Dad by his first name "Burt". He got that from me. When I was a kid I realized that my father did not respond to the name "Dad" or it had to be repeated 1000 times to get an answer. But when I called him Burt, he answered immediately. So he became Burt to me. :D He always thought it was cute. I didn't do it because it was cute...I did it so I could get a response from him. Ryan tried calling him Grandpa for a while and realized he responds to Burt better. So Ryan also calls him that. Burt is his pal as Ryan puts it.

So this year he gets his wish. He gets Grandma and Grandpa....Aunt Amy who is his favorite person and Disney Land his most favorite place in the world. He is very excited because the Pirates of the Caribbean ride just reopened. He's been waiting over a year to go back on his favorite ride.

I don't think he'll want to come home. 8O
Besides the fact I don't think he missed me at all this summer. :(
I do think he wants to come home to his toys. I was an evil Mom and got rid of half of his toys, they were all broken or missing pieces. He is going to freak out. But if you ask Darcy, she'll tell you just how many toys he has....WAY TO MANY!!!
I organized his room and bought a storage rack with open top canvas baskets instead of drawers. I put all of his matchbox cars in one....Dinosaurs in the next and so on. Ryan is really anal so I think he'll like that. His room is super clean right now. I bet that last for 5 minutes.

Now to the awful transition period of getting Ryan used to being back home again. He always wants to sleep in my room after he gets home. Then the jet lag..... and testing Mommy's limits again to see if he can get away with the same stuff Daddy lets him get away with.
:lmt: This should be fun!! NOT!!!

I think I need a drink

Elissa, it will be fine! I bet he misses you tons!! Take a picture of that room...this I gotta see!! E isnt kidding when she says that Ry had TONS of toys...holy cow! He will have a great time with your sis and parents...it could be the perfect transition to coming home!
I bet he missed you very much....
Like Darcy said, spending time with his aunt and grandparents may be the perfect transition period before coming home to you... maybe it will be easier this time. :)
Well he didn't exactly have an exciting summer with his Dad so he might be happy to see me. He had all these plans and didn't do any of it except going to the beach for the day.
I bet he lost the wonderful tan he had before he left here in June. Seems they spend most of their days at home in Ex-husband's apt then go to the park in the evening. Ryan must be bored out of his mind.
Anytime I did talk to him this summer (when he wasn't too busy to talk)he would ask about Disney Land.
A smooth transition would be really nice, but for the past 5 years they have been pure hell. Maybe I just needed to let him stay with Grandma when he has asked every single time he gets home.
He starts school next Monday so getting him back into a routine will help.
I do hope the transition goes smoother than usual.
Look on the bright side, Elissa. If he did have a boring summer with Dad, maybe that will make him realize how good he has it at home and he'll be a perfect angel!! I'm sure he missed you! Have fun with the reunion!
It's been a nice break for you and I am sure Ryan will be fine, he still has his grandparents and aunty to wear him out before he comes home

Also back to school soon so back to routine.

I bet he did miss his mom a lot. :D
His comment to me when his Dad would tell him that I was on the phone was: "Call me baaaack! I'm busy!" He says it all year to the EX but I thought I was different.
He did say tonight that he is ready to come home. Also that he misses Pepsi.
I know his little Sis will be thrilled that he is home. She has missed him a lot. The reason I know this is she walks up to every boy she sees that is Ryan's height with his hair color and she will say hi....hoping it's him. It's so cute!
Hope everything goes well. I bet you're so ready to have him home.
Awww that's so sweet, I bet Hayley will be so excited to see him :)
I am getting ready to leave to go to Orange County, where the airport and my family are located. Ryan gets in, in about 5 hrs!
I can't wait to see him and how much he has grown!
Hayley & I are going to visit with my Grandmother before we go get Ryan so she can get some "Hayley" time before Ryan gets home.

In other news my Grandmother is not doing well. :( Last week she told my Mom that this looks like the place she used to live in. Mom asked what looked like the place she used to live in.... Grandma said here...meaning her apartment. My Mom told her this is the place you used to live.... You still live here, and have been here for 8 1/2 yrs. Her 94th B-day is on Sept 11th. I honestly wasn't sure she'd be here when Ryan got home. I know seeing him will make her very happy.
Elissa,
I'm sorry your Grandma isn't doing well. It's very hard to see happen, but at least she's lived a good long life.

I hope Ryan's transition home is good! :D

Oh, and wave at the OC for me!
Hi Ellisa,

Funny when the kid(s) go away for a while it's kinda a reprieve for us...hip hip hooray!....then we miss them after the first day or two.

I bet Ryan despite all the fun he's had over the summer, realizes there's no place like home. I am sure he missed you tons!!

Sorry about your grandma not feeling well these days.

Marianne and the boys
Hope all is well with Ryan's return and I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma
I wish you an easy and peaceful re-adjustment :D He is going to be so happy to see his mom!
Surprisingly enough Ryan wanted to go home with me 8O
Even though he first said he wanted to stay with Grandma he decided he wanted to come home instead. :) Which meant no Disney Land, but he just wanted to come home. When we were down the street from the house he said he was so happy and excited to be home. :D
He is now asleep in his bed and is very happy to be home.
No plane problems this time! He was the last one off with the flight attendant.
Of course his first question when he got off the plane was where is Grandma? She was waiting with Grandpa and Aunt Amy and Hayley in the baggage area. We went to see my Grandma and Ryan said he was scared of her. He refused to go into her house for the first 15 minutes.
He finally came in with my sister. Then we went out to dinner with everyone then came home.
I am exhausted!!!
YEAH!! Welcome home Ryan!!!

Hoping that everything will be smooth sailing, and that he likes his room!!!
Welcome home Ryan! :)

Sorry to hear your Grandma isn't well....
