My boy's NOT fat!

So, I had to get Barney's bordatella updated about a month ago. While there I had them weigh him. He weighed 96. Wow! Big boy. Last Friday we took him in because he had an ear infection. He weighed 98! Bigger boy!

He was very hairy (notice the 'was'!) so it was hard to tell just how chunky he was, but I was convinced that he would look like a stuffed sausage when he was shaved. I had it all pictured in my head and was prepared to tell him how good he looked, no matter how big he was.

So I go to pick him up at the groomers (played VERY well with all the other dogs and didn't pee on any person!)...and he's all shaved and, while I wouldn't call him svelte, he is NOT FAT! :D

I was so shocked and so happy (we don't feed him all that much anyways, so it's not that I was feeding him a ton and thinking that's what made him big). I'll post pics when I upload them. But he looks so good, which is so good for his bad hips...(ANd the groomer AND the owner both said he was a very handsome dog--motherly bragging here) :P

Clyde says that being a tank rules!
Pepsi says he likes being built like a stuffed sausage. :)
He is not really fat...but SOLID!
I couldn't stop smiling while reading your post. Made me think of something I once read in Readers Digest...(mom has given me a subscription since I was 12 but I'm digressing). The hilarious true quip was told: Two children were heard to be arguing.."your mom is fat."..other child responds.."no she's not! she's just big for her age".

Well Barney isn't fat...he's just big for his age. :D

Handsome boy he is too!! Very muscled and well toned I'd say.

Marianne and the boys
That's great! Pictures please!!
He's not fat, he's fluffy! (well, he used to be fluffy).
He's a handsome boy!
Bailey is 90 pounds, but there's not an ounce of fat on him. He's long and leggy.
Its funny that you said that Steph, because right before I gave Panda her summer cut, I was thinking that she was getting chunkers, but she looks great...her last summer weight was 56 lbs and this summer weight was 62 lbs...the vet said at 56 she was great but 62 is ideal....

Panda wants to tell Barn's that being a little bigger makes for more fun wrestling and cuddling :hearts:
Sounds perfect to me. Jasper is 80 pounds and sometimes he goes a couple of days without eating much. After those days, you could start to see his ribs when he was shaved down. I think he needs a little more weight on him, but I can't force him to eat.
Very cool! :D
