Hello from Atlanta

I just wanted to let everyone know how much I have enjoyed this OES forum. I am going to feel so much more confident when I get my own sheepdog having all of this support. I am hoping to be a new sheepie Mom before too long. I'm going to try to go the rescue route. I would love to provide a family for a sheepie in need. I hope I can post pictures of my new little sheepie before too long.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of the OES members better!

Welcome!
Welcome to the forum!
Beth,

Thank you for considering a rescue. These pups need love and a steady home. In return they bond very tightly. Be patient with them, they come with some extra baggage which they unpack fairly quickly. (Anybody have that poem about rescues and unpacking their suitcases?)

We will be here to help if you need it. And you know we are here to share all the experiences, good and bad.

Found it!!!

The Meaning of Rescue

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
Hello and Welcome.. You will love this place so many lovely people from all over the world... And lots and lots of cute sheepies. :D
