Hi, I've posted a few times (and a couple are 'guest' because I forgot to put in the name and I haven't figured out how to edit posts here yet). I live in Minnesota, with my family of husband, 4 children (2 of whom have left home, the remaining two are college students), and now 3 beautiful OES's.

Archie (short for Archimedes) is 7 years old. He's a beautiful, sweet, really goofy dog. He was our second OES (more on our first later), and always played the role of 'pup' and goofball to Merlin's more dignified adult mentor. However, since losing Merlin in Jan. and gaining 2 puppies in May, Archie has settled nicely into the role of mentor/playmate after a relatively short period of adjustment.

Sophie and Sherman are 4 1/2 month old littermates. Sophie looks like a prim little school girl, but she's a little terror when she wants to be. Sherman is more mellow. Both are sweet and affectionate and actually very, very good with other dogs and with kids and people of all ages. Trick now is to convince them that not everybody wants to play.

I'm just waiting for pictures to be approved so you can see my babies.

Welcome to the forum! :)

Great pics :)
How wonderful that you joined up! All of your pups are beautiful! Welcome!
Beautiful!! Great pictures! I'm so glad you joined!
welcome!!!
I love your pictures!! Your Sheepies are very beautiful.
I dunno if it's the photos but Merlin and Archie doesn't look "old" with such dark hair!!
Thanks for the welcome. As for color, It's the picture for Merlin. He had sort of started to fade to brown in places as he got older (10-11 +). If only I got more brown as I got older!

Archie and Merlin are blue merle (part of the reason for Merlin's name). Sophie and Sherman's parents are blue merle and light gray/white, so I'm not sure what their coat will be, but both have fairly blue skin under their fur. Sophies coat has gotten to be much coarser; Sherman's is still pretty fluffy, but both are getting more and more gray.
Welcome to the forum!
Lovely Pooches, Greetings from Australia and Welcome
Welcome & welcome to your beautiful Sheepies!

The second picture made me stop. It looks like it could have been my Katrina who has passed on to the Rainbow Bridge.
Welcome!
What beautiful sheepies.
Great pictures!!! Welcome! :D
Welcome! Your babies are all beautiful! Another one of our members is from Minnesota and is dying for a playmate for her 6 month old Pippen! :D
Hi and welcome. I'm from MN too (but not Pippin's mom!). Your pictures are great - your pups look like a lot of fun. We have had 2 OES, the most recent was Bart - my avatar picture- and now ATB  . We are hoping to rejoin the OES ownership ranks again soon, are looking at a litter and may get a pup.

We do have 6 other dogs, so we aren't dogless by any means! We live on a farm and raise sheep, so an OES is a natural for us. I also own a private dog school, evaluator for AKC- CGC and a therapy dog group, as well as working with the dog project in MN 4-H. We are just a dog oriented family! Meeting my husband at dog training classes 24 years ago didn't hurt either 8O .

Welcome to the group - I wish I would have come across this group years ago.
Actually, I thought about posting this earlier, but around the same time we were debating puppies vs rescue, we saw Bart on the MN rescue site. The only thing that kept us from adopting was (and I confess I don't remember which was was which) was that the available dogs all either had icons indicating that they needed to be an only dog or not in a home with small children. While we no longer have small children, we do live in a neighborhood with lots and lots of foot traffic, and lots of families with young children who want to stop and pet Archie. And since we had Archie, the only dog request just wasn't going to work. My husband actually called about Bart and ended the call with enough questions about how he'd work out with our family that we decided to go the puppy route. I knew that we couldn't face adopting a rescue and have it not work out with our family or with Archie.

I was really sad to read that my gut instinct was right. Poor baby. And poor you. I know your heart must have broken into a thousand pieces.

Oh, I live in SE MN, on the Mississippi River. Any Minnesotans nearby?
Hi TGIR!

I'm Karen, Pippin's mom. Welcome to the forum :) Sorry, I don't get over to the introduction area very often! Congrats on your new puppies, they sure are a handful at that age! How far SE are you from the south eastern suburbs of the twin cities? We're right on the Mississippi too!
Welcome to the forum! Your dogs are gorgeous! :hearts:
Karen,

I'm about 120 miles from the Twin Cities. Pippin sounds great--full of beans, just like my crew.
Belated - WELCOME!!

Glad you've joined us!! I know Karen will be glad to have someone close to her for playdates!! :D
