I think the last 3 are the same dog?
Confused Sue :D
oh my. I hope someone can help. Look how matted she is getting :(
I just called and left a message for more information. I'm not sure how I'm going to get her up here, but I'll wait til they call back!
Hi,
Our amazing Ingrid is working on this!

Sue
Most of the OES Rescue world has been working on saving this dog. ( it does seem to be just one dog-- the shelter named her Jenny) Many emails have been flying all across the country -- many more than you can imagine.

There is an experienced OESRNSE volunteer less than 1/2 hour away from the shelter in GA. She will be picking up Jenny today. Jenny will either go directly to the vet or to foster care.

Do not worry -- Jenny will not fall through the cracks. If for some reason that does not happen as planned, Dixie OES Rescue has a Plan "B" all set up and ready to go.

I will keep you all updated on Jenny's rescue.

I'm so pleased! She looks like a wonderful girl!
Glad to hear so many folks helped out and this girl was saved! What about the first boy listed..was he as lucky? I'm hoping so.

No he isn't as luck because he is a mix. Can anyone spring or foster him? sue

at Floyd County Animal Control...

Dixie OES Rescue is checking on her today. They are open on Sunday.

You make think this is very cruel but I told the volunteer that is checking on her if dog does not resemble an OES very much at all it would be very hard for us to place.

We are so new we only have a few applications for dogs and only a few of those applicants will accept mixes. So that if it was just a fluffy dog and they weren't prepared to keep it for themselves to leave it.

We dont have very much income yet to pay for the necessary vetting ( usually shelter dogs need more vet care than an owner turn-in) as no dog will leave Dixie unless it is spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, clean and shots up to date.

Is there another OES rescue group can step up to the plate to help us fund and place these mixed dogs?

I have been in touch with the terrier group, don't know if they can help. At this time the oes rescue SE just can not help the mixes.
We took in a terrier mix several month ago and he is still in the foster home and that leaves me with one foster home less. So if we have a pure oes needing help in that area, we don't have a place for him.
We have spend tons of money this year alone on 4 HW pos. dogs.
Jenny is in her new foster home but she has several tumors that need to be taken off, so that will always run into money.
There are two more oes in GA that need help. GA is a busy state.
The sad thing, we can not save them all.
OMG.. he is beautiful.. if I lived closer, I would take him in a second...hopefully, someone will snatch him up soon and he gets the love and kisses he deserves.
HI everyone,

just wanted to let everyone know that this dog is a she not a he if we are talking about the terrier mix.

Is Dixie Rescue going to help with this girl Marie?

Zach
The dog I was talking about was a she not a he. A terrier mix in Floyd County. She is safe and was released to a rescue. I do not know which one.

Does anyone know if there is a male OES in GA that needed help?

Jenny is doing great in her foster home ( she likes sitting on the sofa to watch TV with her foster mom). She is housebroken! And she looks pretty good with her new hair cut -- but she didn't like wearing pretty pink bows in her hair. She has a fresh start in life!
