Does anyone have any idea what will remove a blue marker? I thought I had bought washable markers, but I guess not. Brandon decided to draw ALL over their top bunk Friday, and I spent all day trying to clean it off. Nothing is working. Sad

Here's a pic so you can see what I'm dealing with. Ugh! Boys... I didn't even know he had a marker in the room with him until Jake came into the kitchen telling me Brandon was coloring on his bed.

Needless to say, all the markers got thrown away - but a little too late. Sad
Try nail polish remover.
Have you tried alcohol? The problem with marker is it soaks into wood. You may have to sand it off. Good luck.
AAACK!

With sanding and with the harsher chemicals, you'll be taking off the wood's finish along with the marker, I fear.

I also fear even if you paint over it, the blue may show through. However, they make a paint that dries like a chalkboard!!!
That might be a good solution for you.

Kids. Why can't they be like we were, perfect in every way?

Wink
My guys end up drawing on my kitchen table frequently Evil or Very Mad Murphy's Oil Soap and a little elbow grease can work miracles.

Stay away from the other chemicals, they will strip the finish.

Good luck! My 5 yr old sprayed Goo Gone from the top of his bunk set last year so I feel your pain Wink

Lark, Noodle and the boys
Have you tried the Mr. Clean sponge? It is amazing - I know it gets crayon off the walls. When I worked at a pre-school we used it for everything. They even have a heavy-duty one now.
I'll try those things. Thanks everyone. If nothing else, the chalk board paint does sound cool...or maybe we'll just paint it white (that'll match their room better, lol) The bed isn't even a year old yet though, grrr. I hope something works!
Nail polish remover really does work....
Go buy some GooGone. It's made just for that type of stuff and isn't acetone based like nail polish remover so you don't have to worry about damaging anything. I'd worry that nail polish remover will remove the finish on the bed.

Perfect? LOL I'm just getting payback from all the things I put my parents through. It should be interesting when Jake starts school tomorrow. I ended up getting taped down to my chair in kindergarten! lol Of course, teachers couldn't get away with that now. Smile My mom wasn't too happy when she found out about it though. I think it's funny now.

Then, in 3rd grade, I did something (think talking in class), and the teacher made me stand up on one leg and she propped a book up on my other foot. My mom found out about that, and I don't know what she said to the teacher, but a lot of other parents were telling her she did great. The teacher never showed up at school again. Shocked

I ran away into the woods at 4, because my grandmother spanked me (she was babysitting me). The entire town had to look for me. My future high school principal is the one who found me. My mom said I was gone for about 10 hours.

I gave my parents A LOT of worries when I was young.

In my defense, I was an angel in jr. high, high school, and college though! I never caused my parents any trouble. I think I'll take these hijinks when they're younger if it means they won't give me headaches in their teen years! lol
The Mr Clean Eraser is the best!!! I don't know what I'd do w/o one!!! I use it for EVERYTHING that I think will never come out esp. scratches on furniture. I hope it comes out for you Sad
Leave it there. When the kids are grown up and gone you'll enjoy the pleasant memories. Very Happy
I third Mr Clean's Magic Eraser sponges!!
I fourth Mr Clean's Magic Erasers- they are a staple within our home!! Have never been disappointed with them!

topic, how to remove marker from furniture. Try bug repellent, such as OFF.......look at the site
Im sorry to laugh, but, kids will be kids...what an artist Very Happy all of the suggestions are good, Id worry about the nail polish remover too though...Painting would always be good...be sure to use killz first...so that the marker doesnt bleed through..(its a primer that hides everything)
I know Hairspray gets pen out of clothes, so you could try that too.
