Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

You either love him or can't stand him.

We loved Anchorman, so we bought the DVD, and we still laugh our heads off at his antics.

Don and I are going to see this new one tomorrow, as it is just being released. The trailers look typical of his stuff, but I hope we are not disappointed. Should be good for a few laughs

Will Ferrell is our man!!! YAAAHH!

Can't wait! A group of us are going this weekend. I found I liked Anchorman better the second time I saw it and it's really got some great lines in it. This one looks good!
I'm hoping Will is "on" for this movie. Anchorman and Elf were great, but some of his other roles left somthing to be desired. I'm not a big car racing fan, so I might not get most of the jokes, but I still want to see the movie.
I laugh out loud every time I hear:

"My sons, Walker and Texas Ranger"

The first time I saw the preview at the movie theater...I laughed so hard there were tears in my eyes.

Lol. Me, too. I also heard for the first time in a preview today, an extended part of the scene where's yelling, "Help me, Jesus, help me Tom Cruise" where he adds something about Bruce Willis, which cracked me up for some reason.
It looks so funny, I can't wait to see it. He's such an idiot!!!
We just got back from the movies. I really enjoyed it, but hubby was a bit bored. Nothing new for him, as he often falls asleep at the theatre.

It was different from what I expected..which was high slapstick.... Not that it is a bad thing, though. It was more of a story, like a real movie, and it showed more of Will's talents as an actor, and not just a bumbling fool. It had many, many amusing parts, and there was a lot of scenes packed into the 104 minutes or whatever.

I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids, because of the language and the mouthy young boys in the movie.

Very entertaining, and I will probably go see it again. I think even people who don't care for Will would enjoy it. Even people who don't know anything about racing can relate.

Thumbs up from me

Oh, and there were previews for another of his movies coming out in November. Interesting storyline, but a lot more fictional than this one.
I saw it too. I liked it. I think I'll like it even more the second time I see it. My husband and friends said it dragged a bit, but I didn't really think so. Maybe they thought that because it actually had somewhat of a real storyline.
Anyways...good fun!
We finally saw it last night. We loved it! I agree Steph, it'll be even better the second time. There were so many lines that went by too fast that I know I'll want to use later. One that struck me so funny is when Ricky Bobby is delivering pizzas and the kids are laughing at him and one goes "Nice denim shorts, Ricky Bobby." I can't even tell you why it was so funny to me but I was almost crying.
