You need to find out about her parents. Are they healthy? Have they had their hips tested? What are their personalities like? You need to spend time with her (oh...what a terrible thing  ) and see what she's like.

You need to know if there is a major problem with her (G-d forbid) will they take her back. Find out why they are letting an older puppy go. Had they adopted her as a little pup?

Has she had any shots? What food is on (you can wean her to something else when she gets home, but slowly. Keep her on her current diet and slowly switch her over.)

You need to look carefully where she comes from, is it clean? Is she clean? Is it reputable?
Good luck. I'm very jealous!!!!!! Let us know what happens!
I would ask: :go:  :yay: HOW SOON CAN I TAKE HER HOME?

Sorry, just got excited that you might be getting a Sheepie. 8)

^^^^ HEE HEE

Very good advice given from debcram..

Ask for a copy of her medical records, vaccination papers, or a number of the vet who can send you papers if they don't have them.

Check her teeth. When I'm looking at older pups/dogs I always check their teeth. Not only to see if they are all there, and don't see prominent gum disease, but also to kind of see their personality and if they were handled a lot as a pup...

Also you can ask what kind of training the puppy had, if any... Maybe cool tricks she can do..

How fun!!
At least as important as health is temperment: has the puppy been socialized with other dogs? People in general? Small children? Older children? Older people? You want your dog to be completely safe to have around other people and dogs.

Also, why are they giving her up?
Most likely they will lie and say they just don't have time for her...

So go with your gut instinct, let them know you need to know all about her behavioural problems she is having, because she will be in contact with small children and other pets. If they lie about any aggression to food, treats, toys, other dogs etc..I hate to see you find out that the hard way.
