Okay, I'm the worst furbaby mama on Earth!
 After all the work I did having him survive, and I forgot the birthday! lol He turned a year old on July 4th.  He's the kitty that I was up all night for weeks (felt that way at least) trying to help it live. Allie, his "mom", quit taking care of him when he was just a couple of days old, so I had to take over from there. She had five kittens, and he is the only one that survived. I'm ashamed that I didn't think about his birthday until tonight. I was petting him, and I started thinking that I needed to make him a vet appointment to get a checkup soon. It hit me then that he turned a year on the 4th. I feel awful, it should have been a great celebration, because I'm amazed that he is here with us today after the struggle he had as a kitten. To make matters worse, we scared him to death on his birthday by shooting fireworks, lol Oh well, he doesn't know what a calendar is, so I'll have to get him a special treat and make it up to him tomorrow. |

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I don't celebrate pet birthdays or anniversaries -- and I don't even feel bad about it! 
I'm glad though, that Socks made it to a year. He is really on his way! (to where? who knows. cats are so secretive). I see your Signature includes Socks and Mara, but not Allie. Is there a story lurking in there? (or one that I missed?) |

| Happy Birthday Socks!! I find it easier to forget our cats birthday! Our new cat just came into our home and what do I do to welcome her? ...celebrate her birthday a week later. hehe Give Socks lots of treats! |

We took her to have her spayed, and then she seemed angry at us for about a week - hissing at us and such, which she never did before. I don't know - she just started acting really strange. We opened the door, and she shot out of it and we haven't seen her since. I guess she didn't like us anymore and decided to run away.  I like to think she found a new home vs. what probably happened with as many dogs as is around here. |

Don't feel bad. I forgot Copper's birthday AND HE IS MY SON  Luckily I remembered on July 4th so he got the whole celebration and frosty paws then. We don't know his real Birthday because we rescued him on July 1 so that's his birthday to us. |
