Dixie is Home for Good

Well, we did it. We've made application to adopt Dixie and we have been accepted.

She was in another home for a short period of time, and they had a family emergency and we had her back for a few days. It took that for us to realize that we missed her terribly and she needs to stay in our family.

Bosley can now play without his cone and they are having a ball together. Here they are kissing.

So, yes, we failed Fosering 101......but hey, I'm sure Dixie doesnt' mind have failures as her human folks.

We are beaming for having made this decision and it all feel so right.

Awwww, congrats!! :)

They look so happy together :)
  How do you think I ended up with 7 dogs at one time??

Good, I'm glad she's back. How about the people? They agreed to let her come back to you?

We made a boo-boo, letting a foster go too. Glacier came to us as a foster already living in 3 homoes. She was a big hit here, but the rescue lady found her "the perfect home." Well, 5 years later (after we left the club and fostering) I was on jury duty with the rescue lady and told her we made a big mistake giving up Glacier. Two months later she called and said Glacier had been in 5 homes over 5 years. "Would you take her?" I never hesitated!

She is a "semi-dwarf" Great Pyr, cute as a bug, built like a tank, sneaky and willful little bitch, funny and we love her.

Sometimes you are the best solution....other times not. The key is knowing the difference.
Welcome Home Dixie :D :D
I love happy endings!
Laurie
Welcome home Dixie!!! That's incredibly happy news. Hooray!!
Now you ain't jus' whistling Dixie!

(What the heck does THAT mean? )

Yay!
It has been very obvious that you have loved her and given her the best care. It only seems right that you have her back. Congrats to the (now) whole family.
Would anyone else understand the "face punches" the "body lunges" and the soulful eyes???? She is home with her family that love her to pieces... that's better than any big screen tv.

I am sooooooo happy for Dixie, Bosley and your family, you just made my day.... maybe someday Murphy and I will travel to Ont, so that he can see his cousin and they can "face punch" each other.

Brenda, Dudley and Murphy
Glad she found her furever home with you guys. :) She always looked happy with you in pics.

Ron, it means having unrealistic happy fantasies

For one of my classes, we had to do a paper on the song Dixie - how African Americans view it as a racist song, but Southern Whites are proud of the song because of its ties to the Civil War period (the Confederates used it as their song during the war). Anyway, I remember that from the paper.
Hi,

Wow! what a story! Defianately means she was meant to be with you guys!!!

Congrats and what a wonderful ending to Dixie's adventures. I'm so happy for everyone involved and betcha Bosley is so happy to have her back too!

During the cival war the confederate soldiers would whistle the tune "Dixie" on their way home. You know the song.... "I wish I were in Dixie HORAY HORAY"

(I'm a southern girl  ) aka a GRIT (girl raised in the south)
