Anyone getting storms?

It's been SO hot here, over 100 degrees day after day after day so we knew storms would come sooner or later. Well, now apparently they are. I don't actually see or hear anything yet, but our power is flickering so I think it's on it's way. We have severe t storm warnings at the moment....
I hope it cools things off!

I also hope it doesn't knock the power out, I must admit I am spoiled by air conditioning and can't imagine having to do without it!

Over 100? Wow! The only place in the US where it's over 100 is way down in Arizona and New Mexico. You must live in some weird high pressure zone or something. Aren't you only about 6 hours north of Detroit? I always thought your temps would be on par with the UP or Ottawa.
It's over 100s here Butterscotch - we got up to 102 today and the weatherguy said to expect the same until rain comes in over the weekend. Then, we'll cool down to 96-97, lol It's SO hot and muggy here - miserable weather. You feel like you need another shower the second you step outside.

We're having a thunderstorm right now, and we had one earlier today. I'm not complaining though - we really need the rain. All I have left in my yard is brown with green patches in it now...
My bad. I was looking at current temps rather than highs. I stand corrected. :)
Our high today was 98 and with the heat index 105. We are getting spotty thunderstorms but only during the afternoon.
Here it was 99 degrees with a heat index of 106 today.
Yesterday it was 106 with a heat index of 109. It was 116 the day before.
Obviously our humidity here is up. The cause for our lower temps.
We have TStorms in the forecast until Wednesday.
We really need rain....but not lightning. 8O
Hope you air con holds out and no power failure, the best thing I ever had done 4 years ago was air con in. :D

We get temperatures like that in summer, even higher, so sheepies in full coat a must have. 8) I think the humidity factor is worse then a hot dry heat when a storm is approaching. Hoping it will rain and cool down for you all.

Had no idea it gets to that temperature in Canada. 8O It's winter here and chilly, chilly, chilly YAY  Yes got sick of summer heat, now looking forward to spring soon, that is my favourite time of year.
In the local Toronto area we are more south than some southern states. Plus being next to Lake Ontario brings in tons of humidity. We had over 100 degrees yesterday. The storms just passed beside us last everning, but some places got hit with bad winds storm and lost hydro.

Only 27 (90ish) today, but back up high later this week.

We bought a new air conditioner last month. I can't imagine being without it.
Hot all over the country, very unusual.

Early this a.m. we had an electrical storm and the dogs went bonkers. I've been awake since 2 a.m. trying to pretend to sleep, but hard to do when K9s panting on top of you. Storm lasted 3 1/2 hours......husband nearly had Harry in the shower with him today....the dog is truly velcro in storms.

Curiously, in looking at the long range weather models for our area, a strange winter type system may form up that could bring us rain this weekend. Most unusual situation may form.

As for rain, we did get it last week.......all at once. Roads washed out, etc. Not flooding like back East, just fast moving deluge and suddenly no more road. We are OK here as we have a flood control dam at end of the road, but newer areas will be putting their underground utilities back underground when they bring back the dirt that washed away.
Well, right after I posted that, my power went out and then we got hit with the biggest storm I have seen in a long time. I JUST got my power back now. LOL
High winds, tons of lightning, we're pretty sure tornados touched down as the damage all over town is substantial. I went for a quick drive last night, power was out EVERYWHERE, trees down all over the place, houses damaged etc. I wish I could find a news report somewhere about it, but so far I can't find anything.
It has been 104-106 here all week, so it was bound to happen. It is much cooler this morning, only 72 right now, going up to 88 later.
I hate scary storms, but at least your temps went down. It is supposed to be 101 here today, with TONS of humidity and no storms in sight

At least tomorrow they say we will be having a cool down, so temps should ONLY be in the mid 90s...

Sorry!

Sounds like the storms that passed right beside us went straight to your area, Stacey!
We are suppose to get that heat/humidity down here this afternoon... I am at work now so not sure what it is like out home its suppose to feel like its in the 40's , sorry not sure of conversion, but its over 100...I know that much... and darn hot for our weather down here we get 30 at the most normally....
I forgot to mention that this was our first big T-storm since we have gotten Rags. She was scared to death. She immediately jumped on the bed and laid down between us and she was shaking like a leaf.
She is the first dog I've ever had that was scared of T-storms.
40 Celcius is 104 down there. Plenty hot
No rain or t-storms here...just lightning in the far distance...the news last night said the high was 109 with 56% humidity....more than enough for a storm, but to no avail....there is always tonight....
It's been a sauna here and in the upper 90s 8O ! We did have a major lightening/thunderstorm last night. It seems cooler and breezier out today.
Nah, nothing much here. We've been getting one maybe every two weeks I think. I think once the hurricanes and tropical storms start heading our way we'll see pleanty of rain though. :?

Right now it's just hot and humid. It feels like I'm drowning in the heat some days. Last week I walked outside and the second I did I started sweating and didn't stop till it was in the 80's sometime after 9 PM that night. Wheew!
We had a couple of severe storms here last night. Eek - I want the rain but not the hail and 60 mph winds to go with it! lol
We've had intermittent thunder storms the last couple of evenings. We had a huge lightening storm. It's been humid here because of it, which is unusual because we usually have a dry heat. It got up to 120 in the last week but mostly was 99-114. When it's a dry heat 100-105 just feels good but any temp over that is HOT. I don't usually like to get near the pool unless the weather is at least 100.
Boy you all are having a real heat wave, come and visit me in Oz, we are in Winter, all welcomed for relief from the heat.

Is it unusually hot weather over there for summer?

If you invite us we just may show up. 8) 90's-120 is normal, the hottest time being July and August. Do you think your Sheepies would fit in my suitcase? I just might want to take them home with me.
