Bosley, a Dog Show, and Bosley Again

What a full day we had on this lovely, hot Saturday.

First of all, the most important thing we did was bring Bosley back for a follow-up eye exam. It has been almost 6 weeks since his surgery, and he has been wearing a cone 24 hours a day all this time.

Well, his eye looks great. He still needs 4 eye drops a day, but we can let him have some time cone-free as long as he is supervised, so he doesn't scratch at his eye. It is healed, but still fragile. So still no dog park or rough-housing with visiting Dixie, but he can go for walks and have quiet time with us, without a cone. Yeeaaahhhh! By the way for the record he went through 3 cones that he totally destroyed, and one that is repairable.

Second of all we went to a dog show in town and saw the OES's. There were some breeders there who are on this list, and I took some pics of them and thier dogs. I also met the lovely Stacey (Willowsprite) who, although she has admitted to me that she hates my town :? , was happy to get the pics that I took. Nice to meet you, girl! Wish we had nmroe time to chat, but shows are alwasy so busy...I don't know how the folks in the pics would feel about having thier pictures posted, so I will leave that up to Stacey. There sure were some nice sheepdogs, there....A lot smaller than I thought I would see....but I did see Ali Black's Delilah, and Blueshires' Morgan , the sister of Stacey's Panda..... Breathtakingly beautiful bitches for sure.....

So after doing some landscaping this afternoon, moving rocks, digging, seeding and putting dirt down, we wanted a relaxing outting tonite. Hubby and I went to the local car show, with Bosley who we can now take out cone-less. He hadn't been hardly anywhere for almost 2 months and was so excited. He did behave fairly well on the leash, all things considering, and didn't jump up on anyone who stopped to pat him.
But why is it that Bosley ALWAYS finds that he needs to do a JOB right in the middle of these public events! Right smack in the middle of the parking lot, surrounded by people and antique hot rods....and when he is excited it is always SOFT! And the pavement was so hot in the heat!
Needless to say we scraped as best we could and left.... :twitch:

But all in all a great day.....

Hi Nicole,

So glad that Bosley is doing better.. yeah!!!!!!

Sounds like you had an awsome day.. it's nice that you got to meet Stacey.

It's been hot here as well... me and the boys went to the beach today.. Dud and Murphy just laid under their umbrella and watched the girls go by.
I'm so glad Bosley is doing well, does he miss having Dixie around?
:D :D :D
Just Wonderful :D So glad Bosley is doing so well now, he must be so happy to be out of the cone, no more cone head, well not all the time.

Had to laugh at the car park incident, always the way and why is it always a soft one when they decide this is the place to go? That really made me chuckle, been there, :? and tried to scrape up too 8)
WHEW !! What a busy day!

Glad to hear that Bosley ishealing.

Dixie has been back twice, and is here now, as we puppy-sit her. They are kept separated so they don't wrestle, so they don't really spend time together except at bedtime. In the heat last nite, they were lying down side by side kissing away....So cute.

We do find that when she is not here Bosley turns into this 70 pound lap dog. He is constantly climbing on top of whoever happens to be sitting or lying down. He lays across our lap or chest , and then just pants away. He is much more clingy when he is alone.

Over the next week or so we can start to let him play with her, when he will see her, so it won't be long before he is back to normal.
It certainly was a busy insane kind of day, the portuguese water dog specialty had 94 dogs entered so everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

It was so nice to meet you Nicole! :) I'm sorry we couldn't chat more.....
And I don't really hate Milton LOL I was just commenting on the lack of visible Tim Hortons.

I'm so glad to hear Bosley's eye is doing so well! :) Sounds like he'll be glad to be rid of the cone!
LOL... she didn't bring you a Tim's... the nerve..

hehehe
Glad to hear Bosley is doing well! Sounds like you two had a busy day.
 Yeah for Bosley! So glad he is doing better!!
Yay Bosley - I'm so happy to hear about the eye healing. You certainly had a busy day!!!
LOL at the poop!
Simon (the basset) did that one yesterday. Unfortunately it was on the lanscape rock outside of Petco, not on the pavement (he won't poop on pavement, the rock was as close to grass as it was there). And it was the soft stuff too! There I was , trying to get most of the poop and not remove all the roocks while doing it. Of course, he had to poop TWICE while we were there!!
Bosley's precious, glad he got to get out after all that he's been through.
