Interested in an OES Forum Vacation?

Hi. I just thought I'd throw this out there. Anyone interested in going on vacation together later this year or the start of next? I don't even care where...I just need a break and thought it might be a lot of fun.

That doesn't sound like a break for me...unless you guys cater the entire weekend and pitch in for care of hubby and pups and housecleaning afterwards :D I mean a REAL vacation or weekend somewhere.
With or without dogs?
Wouldn't it be fun to find a "dog friendly" resort somewhere and have a"meet up"
Maybe we could charter a cruise ship?

With lots of "artificial turf"
Ummm yeah, you guys don't want to see me on a cruise.... I'd be the color of the artifical turf... :twitch:

I'm saving all my extra vaca time for next year (Thinking baby), but if anyone wants road trip it to MN, I'll barbecue!

That's what I'm talking about!!! Food, drinks, dancing, beach, A/C, shows, more FOOD!

The sheepie resort sounds good to, but I hate road trips and I don't think I want to put Foz in cargo :(

Karen, believe me, I get sick on boats too. The first cruise my family went on, I had to get an adrenaline shot in my butt. The newer HUGE ships are so great, you barely feel a thing. To appease Steve, we did go on a snorkeling boat trip when we went to Hawaii. I think he just wanted to find out for himself if I was exaggerating. He won't even think of taking me on one of those again!!!
We were kinda throwing around the idea of everyone going on a cruise last year, after we got back from ours. It was our first cruise and it was GREAT!! Lots of people were wearing these little circular patches behind one ear, which I found out is a Dramamine patch, gotten from the dr. They all swore by them.

I'd LOVE to go on another cruise. Wouldn't it be just too cool if we could REALLY pull a big vacation together??
I'm in!

Ohh, I loved our cruise. We had waves coming up to our window, but we didn't feel a thing. I was a little scared though - can't swim, afraid of water and all those huge waves and stuck on a ship! :) I'm so ready to go back though, it was a blast.

As for next year, we have a driving trip planned for Arizona with the kids and animals (assuming we're still here) - that doesn't really sound like a vacation for me though! lol

Arizona is a year round vacation! What part of Arizona will you be in? You are planning to have a doggy play date while you're here, right?
Gail, you guys must stop by and visit me and Sue!! Small detour thru Phx!

I'd love to meet up with your girls! We're going to Lake Havasau City. My husband's grandparents have a vacation house there, and it's a beautiful place! We'll probably be going the week of my son's spring break (sometime in March) or the first couple of weeks after he gets out of school for summer. Probably during the summer - not sure we'd have enough time driving to only take a week off. Should be fun after the drive! lol
Hey. Hubby is making noises about next March taking a week or 10 days and going "somewhere warm" for vacation. And it would be by car (or van), with doggies aboard. He must be getting serious as he has been mentioning passports etc.

How far a drive is Arizona from, say, Buffalo New York?

That reminds me, I think Steve's goes to Phoenix later this year for a business trip. I'm sure I'll be going with. I'll find out more asap!
Has everyone forgotten about the camping trip?

Did you guys actually go? I can't recall.
It's in September of this year.
Sounds like fun, but camping is just not my thing. I crave my creature comforts when I'm on vacation.

Um, Chris, that's why you would bring your creature (Drezzie)!

HELLO!!!!
You've met me. Do I look like a camping type of girl? Why do you think I jumped on a cabin with a dvd player and real beds?
I only wore flannel when I lived in Seatle!
Ahem, if people are driving cross country to AZ, then I think you all need to make a northern detour and hit up the MI and MN people on your way out there!!!

We'll be out there around Thanksgiving of this year!!! :D :D :D Steve suggested we make it a long weekend...I suggested a long WEEK! Got to spend a few days with my sheepie friends.
Yey!!!!! I cant wait! We'll have fun....must start planning a menu......since youre a picky eater stacy, what do you like or dont like...lol......

You're too funny and sweet! I'm pretty much a plain food eater due to stomach issues. I can't eat anything spicy or real acidic (except I do like marinara sauce).
That sounds like a lot of fun - but I think I would need a year (or a little less) to plan hehe. Brad and I will need to save up some money.

I liked the cruise idea - I love the sea. :D I live near a beach so it's nothing new to me but I wouldn't mind being on a ship then going to a nice island. We could all plan to go on events together - like dolphin kissing or visiting a private island an going water skeeing or snorkling. We could also have dinner together some nights in the nice dinning room and make a ruckus. :D

That being said - I love all you guys, but I'm not going camping with you hehe. Besides the fact that it might be a bit dangerous to go into a secluded place (like the woods) where you don't know everyone. Not that I think any of you would do anything weird - but some nut job might read the forum and might be sitting at home right now going 'mwa ha ha' while rubbing his hands together. :P

....

RON!
Sounds like fun, but I am still trying to save up for my trip to the UK. I want to spend a week in Scotland, a week in England and a week in Ireland, and I would realy like to fly over to Italy from Scotland too since it is so much cheaper to go from there.
I've been trying to save up for this for years, and was hoping to go this coming spring, but it's not going to work out again, so now I have to plan for spring or summer of 2008.
