Johnny Depp is awesome as Jack Sparrow! On the news they were saying that seeing as there were no other big blockbuster movies opening this weekend that this one might break all the records! How totally exciting! |

| I have been counting down the days. Unforunately I'm having to work this weekend and can't see it for a few more days!!!!! AAAAARRRGGG I must have watched the first one 30 or more times. |
I saw it last night - wow it was intense - a different flavor from the first one. You'll understand when you see it, but I can't say much without giving it away.  |

| And the third in the series will have Keith Richards as Jack's father. While I don't care for Depp personally (and I'm sure he would disapprove of me too), I just love his Jack Sparrow! As for Orlando, he's just fine to look at.

| I loved the first one..and cant wait to see this! Who would have EVER thought that a ''dirty, smelly, bad teeth, with bad boy/girl attitude" would be that hot??????
And I dont like Johnny Depp either....but he does come up with amazing characters..... |

| I really disliked the movie. I thought it was really really cheesy and I didn't like some of the plot development. Disappointing for sure! |
I'm going on Tuesday to see it, Woo Hoo, I am a BIG johnny Depp fan and love all his movies, seen the first pirate one and can't wait for this one. released last week in OZ. 
Anyone see him in Charlie and and Chocolate factory, loved the original with Gene Wilder, but loooooved this one with Johnny Depp. Also "Sleepy Hollow" and the list goes on and on, oooh what a spunk   I could run away to the carribean with him, shhhhh don't tell my husband LOL  |

I really liked how the whole movie was so much more like the book. Gene Wilder, in general, is repulsive to me so I found it difficult to enjoy the original despite how much I loved the story. 
I think we're going to see Pirates this evening. Yesterday, for my birthday, I got all the Pirates of the Caribbean toys that they have at McDonald's from one of my friends.  |
OK. We went to see it tonite and were disappointed. 
It is very long, hard to follow and my husband and I were kind of waiting for it to finish. 
I found it was a tad "overkill"...too much this and too much that. And Jack Sparrow is not quite the same man. His character seemed exagerated. But is was fun to see some of the same characters, and some new ones. And some gross ones. Some people had a 2 year old little girl with them! I couldn't believe it. I know it is a Disney movie, but there is a lot violence scarey stuff happening. I jumped a couple of times and there are a couple of scenes that I hope I don't dream about. Good entertainment, but I hope the third one is more like the first one...Which I have watched umpteen times! |
| We saw it too and I agree. It was too long and the ending sucked. And, perhaps most disappointing to me, it was a pirate movie with no TREASURE! (I don't consider the contents of the chest treasure either!) I did enjoy the effects and makeup though. What they did with Davy Jones and his crew was really cool. I couldn't help thinking how slimy the ship must be though. I don't know how they could pull the ropes for the sails. |

| WELL I REALLY LIKED PIRATES. IT IS A MOVIE YOU TAKE AT FACE VALUE, BUT IT WAS FUN, WELL ACTED, BEAUTIFULLY SHOT, THE CG WAS GORGEOUS AND SO WERE THE LOCATIONS. SURE THE STUNTS WERE WAY OVER THE TOP, BUT ALL IN GOOD FUN. I ENJOYED THE NEW CHARACTERS, THOUGHT THE NEW BAD GUYS WERE DELCIOUSLY OOKIE... IT WAS ODD BUT I COULD ALMOST "FEEL" THEM THROUGH THE SCREEN. I'M GONNA GO BACK AND SEE IT AGAIN WHEN MIKE GETS BACK, AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT! |

| We went and saw itthis past monday. It was definitley a different falor than the fist one. But i though t it was still goood. But it basically just set up for the third one, and it didn't have as many laugh out loud lines. But i was impressed with it none the less. The special effects alone were worth seeing. Also as for records i heard it grossed 132 million in the 1st weekend, making it the biggest three day opener in movie history!!!

| I was also told that if you saw the first one and loved it, you would like the second one that much better.... My sister saw it, and told me to hop skip and jump to the theatre.
I loved the action and special effects in the first one! Johnny Depp is a brilliant actor although I'm not really into him. I'm mad for I didn't see it yet....Arrgggh... Matey!!
