Going on Vacation to Italy!

Just thought I'd let you know I'll be away on vacation for a couple of weeks so if you miss me, you won't worry.

I'll be in Italy. You can send your postcards in care of the Pope.

Oh...and don't worry about the wigglebums. I have a friend house-sitting who will spoil them rotten. :D

When are you leaving?
Thanks, Stacey!

I leave on Monday and I promise lots of pictures when I return.
When the sun hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore!!!!!!!!!! :hearts:

Have a wonderful vacation in Italy! What area, Venice, Rome,
Florence???????????? The food is fabulous and the scenery
is beautiful! It's too bad you can't bring along the sheepies,
you could all wear sunglasses and outrun the paparrazzi in
your sports car,zoom!

Tammy have a wonderful vacation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(and don't forget to shop your heart out!)
Hi,

Oh my poor heart can't stand it...Italy..gasp I'm so jealous!!! I'm sure you'll have the best time!!! Can't wait to see the photos when you return and I know I don't have to tell you to have fun!!

Marianne and the boys
OH, I'm jealous! Have a fabulous time!
I hope you have the best time ever, see as much as you can even the trivial stuff, and don;t let anyone say that spot is boring you don;t want to go...go anyway, and enjoy it.

Look forward to hearing all about it.
OH, I'm jealous! Have a fabulous time!
SO JEALOUS!!

You deserve it, Tammy! You'll have so much fun. If you are going to Florence and have questions, my brother studied there in college, so I could ask him things for you.

Remember to bring back some Italian couture for the pups!
Have a great vacation Tammy... say Hi to Benedict for me..
Hmm..that's weird. Don't know why it posted twice.
Fun! Where in Italy are you going?
Thanks for all the warm wishes! :P

We're going to stay in Rome and take day trips via train to Florence, Pisa & probably Naples.

I'm very proud of the fact that I'm packing for two weeks in a carry-on. I think I need an award of some sort for that accomplishment!! :excited:

The last time I went to Europe I went with one big suitcase and a carry on and came back with 4 full size suitcases (plus the carry on) full of stuff. You were only allowed like $700 worth of stuff tax free so when they asked, I assured them that that was all I had. I think I had more than $700 worth of stuff just in the carry on. 8O
You've got it!! The reason is so I can bring more stuff home!!
WOWZA!! Sounds like the trip of a lifetime. WIsh I had more notice I'd send a list of "issues" I'd like you to discuss with the Pope, but since I'm not Catholic he most likely wouldn't listen anyway. So, forget the list and have a GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Have a wonderful time!!
Italy is the one place I really, really, really want to go.
Take lots of pictures!!
Have an awesome time! Make sure to visit the forum in rome... it was my favorite thing, and have a drink from the aquafer (I know you're not supposed to drink the local water but those aquafers have been producing clean cold water for 2 thousand years!!!)

If you have the stomach for it, visit the tombs under the city (can't remember the right name for them at the moment). They are grisly, but so cool, and you can pretend you are in an Indiana Jones movie deciphering clues on the walls!!! Besides of course learning all about early Christianity :)

Oh yes- watch out for the street vendors by the cathedral in Florence, they can be pushy.

Have a wonderful, wonderful time. I love Italy with a passion and would go back in a heart beat!
I'm not Catholic either, Ginny, but I thought I'd call on him while I'm there anway.

I promise lots of pictures, Elissa! Probably not the quality of yours!! But, pictures, just the same.

I think it's called the Catacombs. My friends went there and it really freaked her out.

Tammy, have a WONDERFUL time and tell us all about it when you return. Unless you find a computer and can't stay away from us while you're there! Italy is one place we'd love to visit one day!
:yay: ITALY????????????????????????????????????

As they say in Chicago...

Take me witch you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:
That was it Stacy! Thanks! Yes the catacombs. It is grisly (lots of very old bodies on shelves, just like in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!) but also very cool.

Throw a coin in Trevi fountain for me!
Have a great time Tammy! I can't wait to live vicariously through your adventures

Tammy, I will be happy with any pictures... Then I can live vicariously through you until I finally make it there. I am sure your pictures will be wonderful.
I do want to visit the catacombs, Karen! I've thought that would be cool ever since I was in school reading The Cask of Amonteado by Poe (obviously, I don't remember how to spell it, though!!) LOL

Come on Deb! :D

Thanks, again, everyone for the well-wishes!! I'll talk to you in a couple of weeks. Y'all behave now.

I'm gone!
Fantastic hope you have a wonderful time, I am sure you will

Have fun and look forward to seeing pictures of Italy :D
Wow... what fun! :D
Have a fabulous time and take lots of pictures!
Sounds dreamy. I hope you have a fantastic time!! Did you ask your housesitter to keep us up to date on sheepie antics while you were gone? I assume your instructions include log in information, etc.
Have a FABULOUS time, Tammy!! Can't wait to see the pictures! This is a trip we've been talking about for awhile, maybe as a college graduation present in 2 years for our daughter. Plus a side trip to Sicily, to see where my grandparents come from.

Arrividerci!!! Bon voyage!!
oh how exciting!! I took a year of Italian in college, and I don't remember a damn thing... so I have nothing to offer you, but have a great time!

So glad to hear you had a nice time--we want hear more about
your trip, especially the shopping :D
Welcome back!

It seems that Italian men can run at completely opposite ends of the spectrum 8O
I ate some really good Italian food, Zahra, but I don't know if I could duplicate it or not. :D

Stacy- you're right.
Welcome back! I missed you!
Welcome home...when are you going to put pics up??? Glad most of my money came back  What was the best thing you had to eat???
Welcome home! I bet you had a fabulous time!
Bonjourno! and welcome back!

I hope you weren't kidding about the shoes and bags, even if it is Darcy's money. Mmmmmm, Italian leather.......
Thanks, Steph & Gail! I did have a wonderful time. 8)

Darcy - the leather purses were so soft & supple, I didn't think you'd mind. The best food I had was, not surprisingly, pasta. :P YUM!!

No kidding, Mandy, the shopping was fabulous. You would LOVE it!! :D

I'll get a few pics up for you shortly. 8)
Welcome back, Tammy! I'm so glad to hear you had a good time. We're talking about honeymoon destinations and I've been pushing Italy. I've only bee to the north end of Italy and always wanted to go to Rome, Florence nad Milan. Hearing about the shopping only makes me want to go more!
OK! TIME TO FESS UP... WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE LANDMARK/ PLACE TO VISIT. AND STORES DON' COUNT THOSE FALL UNDER A SEPERATE CATEGORY!

CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT IT!
I've never been to the north part of Italy, Jill, but the south and middle were beautiful, especially Tuscany and Umbria. I'm sure you would enjoy it. Have you decided on a date for the wedding?

Karen - I think my favorite place to visit was Pompei. Truly amazing. Like going back 2000 years in time. Very cool. But, it was all astounding. It takes a while just to get your head around the fact that the some buildings you're seeing are 2000+ years old. Boggles the mind. :? I agree with you that the Forum was completey awe inspiring, though. It's hard to choose a favorite. :)
