The Sneak

Does anyone else have experience with "the sneak"? My boyfriend taught our Dixie when she was a pup, and it is the funniest thing you have ever seen. She sits on the couch with him, and I go into the bathroom, and come out on all fours. I tap the hardwood floors softly with my nails and whisper her name. She stealthily and quietly gets off the couch, and sneaks up on me. We're talking paw in front of paw, extreme slow motion style. When she gets across the floor to me, she pounces. We laugh so hard and tell her that was a good sneak. it's the funniest thing ever. It takes her so long to get to me, and her paws pause in mid air. Her head hangs low, like she's giving you the eye. It's the best.

Foz is starting to do this with me outside and I love it. The OES I had growing up, Muffin, did this with me all the time. It sure was fun!
That sounds like fun! We need video! :D
Hi,

I agree it does sound like fun and must be very cute to watch!!

We call it creeping. And she will do it to the other dogs, right before the sheepie 500 begins. It's fun.
Sounds just wonderful! These are such goofs.

Video would be great!!
Our German Shepherd used to do that after I was done vaccuming the house. He was trying to sneak up on the vaccum to see if it made noise when I wasn't using it. He used to attack it while I vacuumed
So after I was done he would do his slow motion walk.
I remember when my husband saw it for the first time. He thought something was wrong with the dog. lol I explained what he was doing and he laughed so hard.

Susan,
Thanks 8) There a couple more... not as good though. I am surprised I got such a good shot since I was using my cell phone 8O I really wish I had gotten one of the happy faces. But I didn't :(
Mojo does the sneak to get to something when he is supposed to be be in "down-stay".
I'm just relieved to hear its not just me that does these kind of things. I play hide and seek with Ollie - throw his ball then hide behind the door, he knows where I am, but he sneaks up and very very slowly pokes his head round the door, then just slobbers all over me - bless
That was a perfect way to describe it. We had Katrina who used to do that when she was a puppy. We used to take her in the front yard and she'd be at one end and us at the other and she would do that and then take off like a tornado all of a sudden when she got close to us. Thanks for bringing back such a happy memory. We would laugh so hard at how cute and smart she was.
