Mick June 26, 2006

You were such a good dog. Even when you ate the bowl full of hershey's kisses. How did you get on the table? You survived a severe illness as a puppy. You were so strong. 17 years and still going. It was hard to watch your body giveing out on you. When your hearing went. Your eyesight. But you learned to find your way around. You lived years and probably could have kept going. If your body hadn't kept betraying you. When you stopped eating I knew. But I had to try the medication. When you still didn't eat your treats... It was time. I'm sorry I failed you and couldn't keep it together enough to stay with you. I know you know I love you. I know that you are now without pain, playing in the grass again. And visiting with your two best friends who crossed the bridge before you. I miss you every day.

There is no failure in the love you've shown. I'm so sorry for your loss!
Hi Isabella,

I'm sorry for the loss of your beloved Mick. What a grand old age the little fluffball had lived to. There is no doubt that Mick was a much loved little fellow and is now pain free at the Rainbow Bridge. I wish I could say the right things to make you feel better but only time allows the hurt feeling to pass. In time, like those who passed before him his memory, will be replaced with smiles. Hugs to you.

Marianne
I'm so sorry for Mick's passing. He lived a very long doggie life and knew you loved him so much. Hugs and kisses from us.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss of Mick.
He did live a long life and was obviously very loved.
I'm sorry about Mick - it is so hard to lose a loved one.
Im so sorry to hear about Mick....You did him proud! Bless his little soul!
Thank you everyone. It's still sad coming home and he's not there. He's been around most of my life. He wasn't even my dog and I still fell apart. And still cry every so often.

Jamie,
We, too, lost our beloved Maggie McGee IV on this very day. She was almost 14 but as with Mick, her body gave out long before her spirit was ready to. We did everything we could for her and she still refused to eat. The outcome was inevitible. Please do not beat yourself up, you did NOT fail your friend! We are very sad about the loss of Maggie but truly believe she is at the Bridge with other beloved pets, waiting for us. As difficult as it is to say, there is a feeling of peace brought about by making the decision to end Maggie's suffering. When we sign on to be a responsible pet owner we must also be aware that their lives are short and we will feel enormous pain when we lose them. The joy we had during the years with Maggie is overwhelming. Soon the memories of Mick will replace the loss in your heart. Take comfort in the fact you did all you could possibly do for him. In dog years, 17 is truly an exceptional life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
((((Hugs))))) Sorry for your loss
Jamie - I'm so sorry for your loss. He does know how much you love him. Trust in that.
((((HUGS)))) and sheepies kisses!! I'm so sorry for your loss. But, what a grand old age to be blessed with Mick til!! Hang onto all those wonderful memories!
((((Hugs))))) so sorry for your loss
Your Mick was very cute! You did everything you could. It's always the people that treat their animals the best that always think they could do more. It was his time and he knew you loved him or he wouldn't have stuck it out for 17 years. That's AMAZING. Peace be with you at this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss - but don't be hard on yourself, you never failed Mick, you just loved, cherished and cared for him for 17 years - thats more than some marriages.

Play happy at the Rainbow Mick xxx
So sorry to hear about the loss of Mick.
What a sweet picture. I am so sorry for your loss. Please don't have any regrets. 17 years of loving care is really special.
So sorry to hear about your loss. <<<<Hugs>>>>
Thank you all for your kind words. My dad called me the other day and told me he had found some home movies with Mick in them. It made me cry but I'm glad we have them to look back on.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Keep the memories alive in your heart.
