My baby is a drama queen!

Yes,
Monday Hannah Rose was limping a little. I checked her paw but couldn't find anything, no broken toenails, cut pad, burrs in the fur between her pads, nothing. I just figured she had a stone bruise or something. Well Monday night at 1:30 she is licking and chewing her paw and crying. Shoot
I have to carry her to the car because she is now limping like her foot is broken even though I still can't find anything. We go to the afterhours vet. They were so nice as always. They weigh her (47 lbs at 19 weeks) and take her back for the Dr. to see.
After a short wait the Dr. comes back with Hannah following slowly up the hall. They asked me to call her so she could find me. I did and the limp mysteriously got worse again. The vet laughed and said she is quite a Drama Queen. She also said what a wonderful puppy she is and they were all playing with her. They don't see many OESs.
The Vet said she had a hot spot between her pads. They had trimed the fur and put on Pred powder. They also started her on an antibiotic.
When we were ready to go, would she walk, only under protest, whining and looking so pitiful.
I noticed today that the limp still comes and goes depending on who is around. She has decided that if she holds up her sore foot and looks pitiful it increases the chances of treats.
This a new experience for me, being used to the stoic Pyrs and happy go lucky Labs.
We refer to patients at work all the time as drama queens. It is hilarious to me to have my puppy labeled to as a drama queen!

Hope she heals up quickly! :)
LOL....she just needs lots of kisses on that tender paw....and of course extra cookies never hurts!
You know a Pyr would chew their foot off if it hurt too bad, but these sheepies really are woosies! I hear ya!! I've got a Drama Queen here now.....and we'll fall for it every time
I LOVE IT!! :yay:

What a great story!! I actually have a picture of my Beaureguard doing that when he was little. He's holding up his paw and whimpering to get attention. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him except that the cat had stepped on his foot.
What a cute story! She sounds like my daughter!!!!
Hello,

What a cheeky monkey!! I know exactly what your going through, Alfie had a bad toe (which turned out to be a grass seed) but it only seemed really bad when i was around.

If I took him down to my mums he'd run along without a care in the world, as soon as i called him he'd play the injured soldier!!

Mind you i think i made it worse, i turned into abit of a molly codler.

I hope she gets better soon, seems like we have two of a kind!!

Welcome to OES ownership!!!!!!!!!! Our guy caught on to this
concept early, so stock up on the treats. He is now 2 years old
and a real snuggley clown. Hope Hannah Rose feels better!
Hannah Rose is really sweet, thanks for sharing the story-
you're in the majority!
Smart girl!! Hope the hot spot heals quickily!!!
I have to say she is the cutest Drama Queen I have ever seen. What a personality. They sure know how to milk it for everything it's worth. Hope she feels better though. Or that there is no drama regarding her health.
