Panda's Vet Visit

Just got back from the vet.....Panda does NOT have hip dysplasia, but her left rear hip is inflammed and tender. She put Panda on anti inflamatories for 2 weeks....Panda's xrays looked great! The vet seems to think its probably from her wall jumping accident last Sept. and that Panda may end up with arthritis in that hip, but not yet!

Panda has gained weight. She now weighs 62 lbs 8O . The vet said she is in extremely good condition and at the ''perfect'' weight!

I feel so much better. Just going to make sure she never really ''overdoes'' it.....and NO MORE FENCE JUMPING...no matter how low the fence is!!

Great news! Yay Panda!

Don't let her gain too much more weight now, Darcy! :D
If she's not already on it, you should ask the vey about starting Panda on maintenance meds like glucosamine. Maybe sometime down the road that will help ease the arthritis.

Yeah Panda!!! No more fence jumping no matter how cute he is!
She has been on Glucosamine for about 6 months now...the vet said keep it up....did I read somewhere that you can give your dog human glucosamine????????
You sure can. We've done both actually, pet and human. When the meds place sent all human grade glucosamine the last time they said it was fine to give Norman the people stuff. The dosage is just a little less and there is an animal flavoring in the pet version but they are the same ingredients otherwise.
Of course that's the brand that we use. We've also used regular human glucosamine from the drug store and went by the dosing directions on the label.
Glad to hear Panda doesn't have hip dysplasia.

Darcy, when Panda was fifty-some pounds she was at the "perfect weight".....Hmmmm. Are you sure that someone is not closing thier eyes to a few extra ounces here and there?

:P :P :P :P :P :P
Yay Panda! What a releif that it isn't HD! I know you were worried, Darce! Now you can breath a little easier... hopefully the anti inflammatories do their things.
Phew! Hope the meds work soon!
SO glad to hear that hip dysplasia is not the culprit!! :clappurple:

The chondroitin/glucosamine that we have Drez on is in liquid form - Flexicose. Mandy actually turned us on to it, and it really does work wonders! Their website says they make a human and a pet version, but they actually are the same thing, interchangeable. I noticed a difference in Drez within a few days (and she's REALLY bad), and Jil started Kayli on it and noticed a big difference too.

Yep, no more fences for Miss Panda!!! Give her a big hug and kiss from me, please!! :hearts:
Good news! :)
Wow! That is wonderful news, Darcy :D
You must be so relieved.
Thanks for posting an update!
Great News Darcy!!!!!! So glad it isn't HD...
 UMMM, Nicole...okay...didnt think anyone would remember that at 56 lbs she's perfect...lol....Dr. Ruiz did tell me to cut down on the cookies  but that she is still in the perfect range....momma and baby should be a little stricter on the ''extras''
What GREAT news! I'm so happy for you guys! :D
YAY Panda, great news darcy, hugs for your girl and definately no more fence leaping
Yay Panda!!
So glad you got good news Darcy!! :go:
Yay for the good news. :yay:
I knew you were really worried about her.
Good news!
Barney says that if she needs to cut back on cookies that he will come over and eat half of hers...but that he likes a girl to have a little junk in the trunk...

Oh, and we buy Barney's glucosamine at Costco. It is for humans and is wild berry flavor and he loves it.
Good to know Steph...thanks.....and....

Tell barney that panda is glad to know that he likes 'em bigger on the bottom :D
