To my forum family-news to share-tubal ligation reversal!

After a year and a half time, hubby and I are proceeding with having my tubes properly reversed.

I am sceduled to see the dr about a surgery date July 11th. I hope it is soon after.

I am optimistically cautious that everything will go fine, and I will be pregnant by Sept or earlier. That is my hope anyways.

But these things can take time, and there is risks, but we doing this together and we both want it. Hubby was never against the idea of another baby. He just didn't want to face 2 surgeries, and the possiblity of it NOT happening.

We know going it the sucess rate of pregnancy is 80 % or better, and I have been approved as a good candidate. My tubal lengths are good, and I am healthy, and the ovaries are in great shape, and I have a thick uterus...all positive things.

Plus we have had 2 perfect pregnancies and 2 healthy babies, and 1 miscarriage 4 yrs after having the tubes tied...we can do this again on 2 open tubes.

I'm so excited, but not ready to tell my family or his until we have a ultrasound and I know everything will be okay. We already know I will be having a c-section.

Sorry for the long story. I'm just so :D :excited:

Congrats! I'm happy and excited for you! :)

Who is doing the surgery? Did you find someone local?

Hubby and I seriously considered it, but I'm glad we didn't now that we are just enjoying a lot more freedom as the kids get older.
I'm so glad that you and hubby are planning to untie the knot!
Congrats!!!
What wonderful news!!! I know how much you were hoping for something like this!!! I can't wait to hear MORE exciting news after your surgery :)

I'll have my fingers crossed for ya!!!

Have fun trying :)

...and lots of good luck on the surgery!
How awesome!!! Best of luck and fingers crossed for a healthy baby a few months from now. :)
how wonderfully exciting! Mike and I are also trying to have our first, after my m/c in may. I'm a tiny bit surprised that they said you could be pregnant as early as September! That seems like a really fast turn around!!! :excited: Here's hoping everything goes well for you during surgery, and that your recovery is full (and fertile :D )
What an exciting decision! Wishing you the best of luck that all goes as planned.
We had to go through a bunch of tests to make sure it was worth our time and money.

I never did have any fertility issues back when I was having the first 2. We only tied the tubes because I have to have C-sec....I have a body that just won't go into labour. Anyways, the blood work, internal scans for abnormalities etc...all came back clear.

Hubby and I are still very fertile, even tho I am close to 34 yrs....35 seems to be a drop off mark.

From what I've read, a tubal reversal has the most success immediately after surgery/recover time. In time the tubes will have scar tissue, closing them in making it more difficult as time goes on.

Even tho my tubes are tied (except for the one), I still have a very reg ovulation cycle.

Most of the time these dr's see people with fertility problems, they need extra help. But I don;t need anything. The Operating Room report, and my OBGYN who did the original tieing said I have plenty to put back together, and she is confident it will work.

I will have this done locally, by Laproscopy. If I needed Invitro I would have to go to Calgary, as Edmonton is not ready yet, the building is still being built.

This works out well for us too as we have vacation time, and hubby is home for 3 weeks. It should be a recovery of a couple days....with the newer techniques, of a lap incision. Then its a matter of 1st cycle after to try.

But I will learn more when I have that appt. He told me I should get in right away, because I don't need anything but the operating room, it's just a matter of availability, and the dr vacation schedule.
aww congrats.. :)
COngratulations and BEST OF LUCK!
Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted.
Best wishes for everything :D Keeping fingers and the girls are crossing there paws that all will succeed.

Awwww :D
