Anyone know what a cloudy eye could be? (cat)

I just noticed (well... yesterday) that KoKo's eye is cloudy. Just the right one. The other one is clear and beautiful. Husband noticed this morning. Is she going blind?

She has an appt tomorrow, but I thought I'd come here in the meantime. :)

I just looked it up on google, and several sites mentioned feline herpes as a possibility. The cornea may be damaged or inflammed. I hope it isn't too bad.
so sorry to hear about the hazy eye...i dont have any suggestions, but good luck at the vet!
Hi Jo,

My first thought was a cataract... but the vet will be able to tell you for sure. I do know cataracts are removable in humans through surgery, I'd think with a younger animal, they could remove them in cats and dogs too...
Kaytee's "good" eye clouded big time last year and we went down to Michigan State University. We were told to continue the Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate eye drops we had started using then to taper off. She does not have normal eyes and is mostly blind so it might not be a good comparison... but the eye drops finally cleared the eye and she was able to get off them. She also has a cataract in that eye

Hope Koko is better soon!
I had a cat that not only the eye went cloudy but it buldged out. I was just a little kid then, and then the cat went "missing"...it probably was some sort of infection that just took over.

My grandfather was not big on spending money for vet care, esp not on the cats, so I never knew what it was. But it sure was ugly.

I hope it's nothing. She could have just scratched the cornea and it will clear up. Our guniea pig went through something like that, the vet said probably scratched her eye on hay while eating...sure enough cleared up quickly.
cats do get herpes easily in their eyes, mine did once but it was more of a discharge from the eye than it being cloudy. I forget how old the cat is but as they age their eyes do get a haze on them, similiar to a cateract but not as defined in shape.
Yesterday there was a lot of discharge, but it wasn't creamy or milk-colored (was told that's more serious).

The dr said her cornea is damaged, but he doesn't know how much. He won't know until she goes into surgery today (declawed). It's easier to take a better look then.
Sounds like she has feline herpes... it can get so bad the eye actually pops out. Sometimes they die, sometimes they fight it off and survive once the eye is gone. :(
I hope that's not it, or if it is that it is caught soon enough to heal.
oh poor kitty! I hope it is something treatable and that she is ok. Has there been any news?
