OK so by the recommendation of my vet, I had Stella spayed on friday.
She is doing well, but now I m suffering all this anxiety about possibly making the wrong decision. I know it's too late now, but I still can't shake the feeling that I should have given this more time.
Oh well, no crying over spilled milk or altered reproductive systems.
Just had to express.
Thanks
No guilt from here!

Thanks!
You done good!!!
You did the right thing especially for stella, very hard on entire bitches with there heat/hormones and all the problems that can crop up by having them entire. Life threatening things too like pyometra.

Give stella a cuddle and glad to hear she is on the mend Very Happy
You did great. Give her an extra treat or two and extra cuddles. You were being a very responsible pet owner. Kudos!
You did the right thing Smile I hope she heals up quickly Smile
ABSOLUTELY the right thing, good for you!! Best wishes for a quick recovery and LOTS OF HUGS !!
Mark...you did the right thing....Stella will be fine and so will you!
You did the responsible thing! Hope she heals fast and BOTH of you feel better soon!
I know how you feel. It took a long time for us to get over neutering Carl. All of our animals have always been spayed or neutered but for some reason we had a lot of anxiety over neutering Carl It was like he was an amazing specimen and we had just deprived the world of his offspring. Rolling Eyes It only took about a week to really have it sink in that we did the absolute right thing and it was also the best thing for him in the long run.
I'm sure that there's some 8 syllable name for it!
Having gone through it 7 times I know exactly how you feel but it really is a necessity. Too many dogs are bred for the wrong reason and without prior health testing. You just did the very best for your little girl. And you've reduced her chances of getting certain types of cancer. So don't beat yourself up... you're baby has a responsible family Very Happy
You absolutely did the right thing! Cheering! Congratulations on being such a caring, responsible owner!
I agree with what everyone else has said. You did a good thing! Also, it's so much easier on them young. When I rescued Lucy (who had actually already been spayed but it was done when she was so young, they couldn't tell) she was about 3 and she took it pretty bad. No complications but it was just hard on her. When they're young, the drive to play seems to be much stronger than feeling pain!
You absolutely did the right thing!
You did a GREAT thing - it may be difficult to see right now but by spaying you may have created a future home for another pet who didn't have one before(adoption for someone else)!!! Very Happy

How is your girl holding up? I bet she's getting back to her sweet self by now!
Thanks everybody,
I knew I could count on you all, to understand. Stella is doing well, but I do notice a great deal of redness around the incision, so I'll bring her in to the vet today to be checked. I needed to hear all of your posts, and you came through big time. I appreciate your kindness and respect all of you so much for the wealth of experience and expertise you hold for this amazing breed. Stella is lucky to have you.
Mark
I felt the same way when I spayed my Dixie! She looked so sad, and I wondered if she knew what we had done. I also know that they live a longer life after being spayed. Where do you live in LA? maybe we can have a play date?
Message me and we can talk. I would love to meet other OES families in the area.
