Wildfires!

This afternoon I heard there was a wild fire near where Karen lives........she's now the local OES rescue. Hope she is well!

Then tonight as my hubby and I were coming home from dinner, firetrucks roared past. Wild fire about a mile from us, but fortunately the 25 mph winds were blowing all away.......so not even smoke.

Did I say, it's dry here??

Where is Karen near?
Hi,

How awful! I hope Karen is safe as all the people that live in the surrounding areas.

Marianne and the boys
I hope everyone is okay, those fires are scary. When I lived in CA there was a huge fire in the Angeles Crest forest, we were on the roof all night with hoses putting out sparks.
I hope Karen is safe as well!

We are having a ton of wild fires as well. A lot of them start off where Mr. J works. Didn't know we had to worry about them here, but they've been bad this year.
hope all is well out there... I'm scared of places where the earth moves on it's own, can slide out from under you(and your house), and burn up, all at the same time.

The OTHER Karen

CA gives me allergies...
Susan, I hope Karen is alright too!!! Its dry, hot and on fire here too....so far 3 large forest fires up north..one of which is by NAU and my stepson...

I think its going to be a long hellish summer 8O
Karen Bernier is east of Albuquerque, north a few miles of Moriarty, west of Stanley. It's open, flat grasslands formerly large cattle ranches, now being subdivided into smaller ranches, ranchettes and housing. One man said he'd be taking his cattle to market today, he lost all his pasture.

Karen and Ron lost their house to fire when they first moved here, so I imagine they are rather sensitive to fires.

Darcy, yes, AZ fires again. Guess I'll drive thru Flag and down Monday and not try for Heber cutoff, LOL! I'd get smoked out!

Locally, fire laid down overnite, but not before they had to evacuate some nearby homes and a casino! Helicopters buzzy about dropping water to make the ground soggy before afternoon winds kick back in.

The "forest" or bosque is only about 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide on either side of the Rio Grande, but folks have built homes right up next to the bosque.

Our best wishes to all of you in the area experiencing the wildfires for safety and prayers for rain!!

Here in GA, the watering-bans are starting up, it is very dry here too!
Susan, if you need to stop in for a watercooler break..give me a call!!
Thanks Darcy! Doubt I'll get below Bell or Thunderbird as usual. Mom is moving to Denver next month so this trip is part of the packing process.

I'll miss coming to AZ and am not looking forward to driving north from now on....ugh.
