Okay, let me start by saying my OES (BOB) is awesome. Very friendly very loving, very smart. He is 10 weeks old. However, recently he has been pooping in his kennel at night. I cant for the life of me figure out why. I walk him right before bed and he goes #1 and #2. I dont feed him after 6pm and we go to bed around 11:30pm. I am up at 5am to take him out. Thats when the mess hits. He has poo everywhere on him and inside the kennel. The part that baffles me is he only has enough space in his kennel to stand and maybe turn around in. For the most part he's house broke. We have a doggy door that he uses. He eats and drinks than I follow him out the door and praise him when he does his buisness. Then I bring him right back inside. He hasnt had an accident in weeks during the day!!!! What do I do at night. He doesnt pee in his kennel he just poops and then covers himself in it!!! HELP!!!!
At 10 weeks, bowel and bladder control are still not mature enough for a puppy to hold it all night long. you might want to try getting up for a potty break in the middle of the night for the next week or 2. My 4 month old puppy wasn't reliable in his crate over night until about 12-13 weeks. Hang in there, and give your little guy time to grow up Smile

One other thing- make sure to clean the inside of the crate with an enzymatic cleaner, soap and water aren't enough to get the smell out of the crate- and that smell stimulates a dog to releive themself. And if you hgave any bedding in there- a towl or pillow etc, remove it until he gets older Smile

Congrats on your daytime potty training success... That is AWESOME for such a young puppy!
Welcome to the forum Smile

He is still too young to expect any real kind of control, but perhaps his food is not agreeing with him? Or maybe he has worms, coccidia, giardia or something? If it is not firm stool there is most likely a problem.
Thanks for your advice. I will try to get up somtime around 2am to 3am to see if he will go then until he is a little older. Anyway, Im new here, and I was wondering if you can tell me how to fit a pic on this site. I keep trying but I cant figure how to shrink my pic to fit the site! Thanks
I figured out the pic thing! Thanks.
What a cutie!!! We need more pictures!
He's adorable. Thinking of him covered in poop.................not a good picture.
Hope the more frequent night time pottying helps. He's still just a baby, a very cute baby Very Happy .
He is adorable!! Smile
He is way too cute for words!
Thank you all......And to give you all an update........I got up at 3am this morning and took him out...He went right out did his thing and did NOT go in his kennel.!!!! I think you all were right about his age,he's just too young to make it through the night. I will keep doing this until he can hold it for longer periods. Do you think each week I should get up a little later?? Or should I keep him on a 3am schedule????? Either way it was sure nice not to have to give him a hose bath at 5am!! Very Happy

That's what I did with Izzie. I think I pushed it back by an hour every week. She has never pooped in the house or her crate.

Bob is adorable!! hearts

Great pictures.
Glad to hear you had a better morning Smile
Bob is ADORABLE! Such a cutie. That's what we did too - every week we'd move the potty time back another 30 minutes until we could sleep through the night. Good luck, and welcome!
He is absolutely cute!! I love the little color on his ears and I can't wait to see more pics - good luck with everything and congrats on the improvement!!!! Very Happy
Glad you've had some success Fuzz. Bob is a gorgeous little puppy. Good luck with the training.
Yay Bob!! ClappingPurple
