God's Great - THANK YOU CHER

Bubba,

When I heard you were gone it saddened my heart, and I shed a few tears, but I had already mourned your loss when you left home. Your death is somewhat of a comfort to me now, but I know the pain your mommy feels. I know the loss she and your brother now suffer. I only wish I could've spared them that sorrow and pain!

But, I'm glad they let you go when they knew it was the only choice they had, the choice that was "right for you". I never gave any thought to our rolls reversing when they took you. I only thought of me, that when this day did come, that I wouldn't be with you. But, you know Bubba, I was. I was always with you in spirit.

After the initial sadness of your passing my thoughts were that I only wish I could've buried you here at home next to your mom and dad. That thought quickly passed, knowing it would never be possible.

I got a phone call yesterday. It was your mommy Cher. "She" was calling "me" to say how sorry she was!!! I had emailed her, but never expected her to call me. Guess what she wanted Bub!!! She asked me if I would like to have part of your ashes!!! She was on her way to pick them up.

God is so wonderful!!!!!! Bubba, you're coming home!!! :D

:hearts: THANK YOU CHERYL :hearts:

I didn't want to distract from Cher's posts. BUT, I JUST HAD to TELL everyone how good of a mommy she was to Bubba, and how kind and considerate she is to share his remains with me. She has gone way beyond what I would've ever expected of her. Thanks Cher, for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless you and your family.

Madison, please steal your mommy's heart quickly, so she feels no more loss, only love!!! I'm so glad you're there for her, and you're new brother!

What a selfless act of love this is!! Cher, I admire you so much! Pam, I can only imagine how much more at peace you will be when you receive Bubba's ashes. That special boy touched many hearts. May he now rest in peace while he waits for his "families" at the Rainbow Bridge.
How wonderful of Cher to think of you.
What a lovely, thoughtful thing to do. I'm shedding tears as I type this for both of you.
That is quite amazing.
Hi,

Pam and Cher you were bonded by Bubba. Sharing his ashes is such a generous and selfless thing to do..how wonderful for both of you. Thanks for posting this and while the moment is sad it also reminds us that angels do indeed walk amongst us.

Such a touching gesture
I received a package in the mail from Cheryl, aka Cher. The package was placed on the counter top and left unopened, knowing what was inside. The day was spent gathering the strength to open it. It was the same feeling you get when going into a funeral home to see someone very close to you the first time.

Later that evening with shaking hands and a pounding heart, I carefully opened the package to find a beautiful wooden urn with some ashes of Bub. Also enclosed, was an envelope with some of his hair and photos of the beautiful and happy Bubba we shared.

As the sun was setting, I dug a small hole between the graves of his mom and dad, and placed a small towel upon the dirt. I sprinkled a few of his ashes upon each of their graves, and then blew a few into the wind as I told him to go with God, to rest in peace.

I then placed the remaining ashes upon the towel, covered them and patted the towel like I would've patted his butt, and said goodbye. I slowly shoveled the dirt back in, and covered it again with the grass.

I brought the urn (containing a few ashes) back into the house with me. I placed it on the countertop, next to the door where I use to keep the milk bones and treats for my dogs.

Pam, what a touching, heartwarming farewell for Bubba. You and Cher were both blessed by this wonderful boy.
Very touching.
That was so thoughtful Cher....
What an absolutely wonderful dog Bubba must have been to have touched so many lives.

My heart breaks for both of you.
That was really sweet of Cher to send you Bubba's ashes.
I am sure it helped you get some closure. Also being able to lay him to rest next to his parents is very touching.
Again I am very sorry for the loss both you and Cher suffered.
