Bob is rideable!!!

Doing the happy bananananana dance

Just talked to the vet who said to start riding Bob for 10 minutes at the walk this weekend. I can ride him 2-3 times the first week, then every day the second week if I want to. It doesn't sound like much but it's a huge step for both of us in his rehab. Plus he can be out (supervised) for an hour and a half a day.

So I will miss the Illinois Sheepie Play Date this Sunday. :( I do expect lots of pics though!

congrats Paula! So glad to hear Bob is feeling better already. That is huge step, being able to ride him at the walk! I'm sure he'll be gald to be back out for some pasture time too! Even if it is supervised :)
Way to go Bob! I'm so happy you are better and can go out riding again! The weather has been lovely.

We'll miss you on Sunday though :(
   I think I'll do the bannananana dance with you!! That's great news!!
That is great news! Maybe Bob will be well enough to come SheepieFest!3 this year!!!

:go: GO PAULA, GO PAULA, GO PAULA :go:
(go Bob, go Bob, just didn't seem to work!)
Yea!!! Good job recovering Bob :high5:

We will miss you on Sunday!!

Amanda
That's great news! Can't you ride him for 10 minutes on Saturday (or Sunday, I suppose), then fly like the wind to the play date on Sunday?

Not that I can make it :( I'll be in Bozrah CT at the NEOESR play date! :D
Yeah Auntie Paula! Can't you come out before or after the ride??? Your Pirate and Keira want to see you, and in fact, Pirate is going to the groomer to look pretty for his Auntie on Sunday!
Yeah! Amazing that he's recovering so well! Go Bob Go!
Hooray for Bob! So how long after he's out in the pasture will he roll and kick his "heels?" Be careful Bob, Mom wants you around for many more years.

He cannot go into the pasture yet. He's on his leash when he grazes. The vets come out in two weeks to do another progress ultrasound and we'll see what they say about him getting turned out. I was told 2 weeks ago that "one false step will put him back to square one."

Deborah, this will be an all-day affair on Sunday because I have to walk him, graze him, clean his stall, ride him, then we gave the barn manager the weekend off so I am feeding horses in the morning, turning them out, then feeding and bringing them back inside in the late afternoon. Take pics of Pirate so I can see how handsome he is!
That is excellent news Paula!
Yay for Bob's quick recovery :clappurple:
I hope the ride goes well.

Paula, that's GREAT news!!!

Way to go BOB!!!

:cheer: :yay: :go:

Give him a smooch for me!
WAY TO GO!!!!!!! I'm so excited for the both of you - let us know how he does!
That's great news! For a moment, I forgot Bob was a horse and I was wondering what whacky vet recommended riding a sheepdog. 8O
WOOHOO for Bob! Great news to get after returning from vacation Paula :)
Go Bob! Go Bob!
Congrats! I'm so glad he's healing up well! :)
We never heard how the ride went, did we?

How 'bout it, Paula?
The ride didn't go. Friday into Saturday it poured and made the outdoor arena a swamp. The indoor arena was filled with hay wagons. Then the temp dropped, it got chilly and Bob got frisky. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 90 so the big ride should happen then. If I don't melt!
