Chester Update-Dilated Cardio Myopathy, 18 months later.

Hello All,
Has been awhile since I have posted an update on Chester's condition. Well happy to say he is still going strong. He was diagnosed with DCM in November of 04. The Vet gave him a few months to live. Well it is a year and a half later and he is still with us. Outwardly he looks healthy. Weight is good and he has energy. He still enjoys his walks and car rides. The Vet and the Cardiologist are amazed at how good he looks and how well he has been doing on the medication. His heart has continued to enlarge but at a greatly reduced rate. We know it is a matter of time before he looses this battle, but we are gratefull for the time and the quality of life that he has had.

Also would like to introduce the newest member of the family Cooper. Cooper is a 6 month old OES. We were concerned how a puppy might affect Chester given his condition but we decided to take Cooper from a friend of a friend who was going to give him up for adoption. The kids were allergic. We have had Copper for almost 2 month. Chester and Cooper are getting along great.
