I do not know what kind of shelter this is.
Does he need to go to a OES Rescue?

If that is the case, I am 2 hours from St. Joe Mo., and
could help with transport.
Hi Karen-
I just got off the phone with animal control in Missouri about Doc. The poor sheepie-boy had been adopted, was found to be hw+, was brought back to them, then euthanized. I'm so sorry to have to pass along this sad info  BUT at least he's no longer suffering... there are much worse ways to go.

I had emailed them on June 1st saying they might want to list him under OES on PetFinder and I also offered to have him groomed but no one replied. This is probably the reason.
Jaci. that's so sad, the poor guy :( Surely he was greeted by all the sheepies who are already at the bridge.

Jaci, was he too old or sick to go through the treatment? Or had the worms just gotten too bad?
I didn't speak with the lady that answered real long. I just said I was calling about Doc and wondered if he was still available and if they'd like to see him get into rescue. After she said he had been euthanized I figured it didn't really matter. From what I gathered it was simply the fact that he had heartworms... but I didn't question any further so I could be wrong.
That's sad, especially if it was treatable. It's only a few hundred dollars and I've had a couple of dogs come out of it with flying colors. Heck, I would've donated the money. :(
