Off to the Wedding in Aurora, Illinois

Hi All! Just want to let you know that I'll be MIA this weekend. We drive out to Aurora today for my SIL's wedding. I'm sure I'll have more interesting inlaw stories for you .

I'm checking some posts today but won't have time to respond to all as I was also out of the office yesterday at a meeting. Didn't have time to post last night.

I'll check back in on Mon or Tues. :hearts:

LMAO...Maybe I should think twice about wearing my grandma's diamond earrings and watch.
ENJOY THE WEDDING!!! Forget all the "stuff"!!! Be sure to take pics to share :D
Have a safe trip, great time and FLASH THAT CASH
Have fun, we look forward to your stories when you getback.
Phew...I'm back and really nothing to report. Sorry, to keep you all in suspense. The wedding did turn out very nice and everyone was on their best behavior. We took picks but have a new computer that isn't hooked up yet. Hopefully we can get it going before the end of the week!
So GLAD you are back and all went well. Those things do have a way of turning out. Can't wait to see pictures, bet you looked PURTY :D
I am very happy to hear that everything went smoothly.
The last thing you needed was more drama.
Glad it all turned out well.
I totally forgot to tell you guys that we had a dog sitter come to the house for Foz and Annie while we were away. She actually works during the day with my neighbor (the ones who Annie has stayed with overnight). I would have had them watch the pups, but Foz is still such a handful. They said probably next time they could stay with them :D The sitter, Barbara, used to watch their two Bichons (now deceased) and her entire business is referals from Bob and Lynn (my neighbors).

My house was intact and Barbara never left the house except to walk Annie and hang out with them in the yard. I told her she could leave for 4 hours at a time, but she said that she was hired to dog sit and that's what she will do. We paid her $40 a day which I didn't think was terrible. I do think they were incredibly spoiled. The treat jars appeared to be empty and I don't recall leaving them that low :D 8O She also said that the pups didn't play together which I found strange because they always play tug when we're around. I do think Annie missed us as she was clingy to Steve when we got home and snapped at Foz when he tried to get in the way. Something else she didn't do while we were gone 8) Silly pups!
I JUST saw a court tv show about this... someone was hired to sit, and had to check in with the dogs at least every 4 hours. Apparently never even showed up, pee all over the rugs, bed not slept in, no food touched, etc., etc.
Don't scare me like that! I definitely know she was at the house. My neighbors saw her and Annie walking and she did eat some food. I found wrappers and boxes in the recycle bin. And LOTS of treats were missing!
$40 a day for 2 dogs in your house is a great deal. I pay $30 a day for one to stay at the dog sitter's house. We refer to it as Bailey's "summer camp".
That is a good deal. I pay $30 a day for my dogs to be in my SIL's kennel with tons of annoying barking dogs and not much attention. My Niece does clean the place twice a day...but they really don't like it there.
I don't blame them. Oh yeah, I forgot we also receive a 15% discount for good customers
I do have a few funny stories that I failed to mention.

The rehearsal dinner was at Famous Dave's which is a VERY casual BBQ restaurant. Steve wore shorts and I wore jeans. Both of us wore gymshoes. Everyone (including the guy who looked like Charles Manson) were dressed up.

I walked down the aisle with the guy who looked like Charles Manson minus the swastika on his forehead and crossed eye. He was very nice but I guess is the resident hippie on the Southern IL Univ campus. He's about 35 yrs old and hanging out with kids in thier early 20s. I thought it was odd. He had never been in a wedding and was shaking! Poor guy.

There was one very strange MIL story to share. For the toast, my MIL was talking about how her sons and grandsons were all named after a saint's day or a special calendar day (Mother's day, Valentine's day). We all kept waiting for where this was going...she never mentioned her daughter that just got married. Very bizarre! Maybe she took Vicodin earlier in the day as she broke two toes earlier in the week. OUCH

SIL and new BIL went to Taco Bell at 2AM for a snack...hmm...were they smoking weed instead of doing the deed?

Also, the groom's family came up in an RV. It was quite humorous seeing two sets of grandparents and kids file out...like the brother in the movie "Vacation" with Chevy chase. HILARIOUS! :D
i get paid $50 a night to dogsit, and they tell me i really only need to check up on him every 8 hours or so. i love the dog though so i take him to the dog park and play with him a bunch... but i think youre getting a great deal for such an attentive sitter for only $40 a night!
STACY- YOU'RE CRACKING ME UP W/ YOUR WEDDING STORIES! I'VE GOT DALE'S WEDDING THIS WEEKEND... LET'S JUST SAY I AM SO GLAD SHE IS NOT A BLOOD RELATIVE OR I'D PROBABLY HAVE TO STRANGLE HER, MUCH AS I LOV HER TO DEATH! SHE CANCELLED HER IN-LAW SHOWER (UH OH, DON'T EVER TURN AWAY FREE GIFTS FROMT HE IN LAWS, ESP WHEN THEY ARE YOUR PRIMARY FINANCIAL SUPPORT) AND THEN SHE CANCELLED HER GROOMS DINNER... AND THEN UN CANCELLED IT!

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW WACKY THE WEDDING IS!
