Anybody watch the scripts spelling bee?

I can't believe I was watching this, if it wasn't that the one girl is from the Edmonton area, I would never have known anything about it.

It came down to 2 girls, the girl from here (Edmonton is in Canada) and a girl from Washington.

The girl from here had to spell a german word that really sounded like it started with a V, but it started with a W. She had all the other letters right, except the first one...but they kept saying Vvvvv. Nonetheless the amazing ability and time spent to learn these words.

Yay to intelligence. They went 19 rounds, and had only 10 more words to spell until it would be declared a tie...I think. The winner will be the morning talk shows.

:yay: :cheer: :go:

Nope didn't see it, but I could probably complete in a spelling bee right about now. Ryan has me spelling every word he hears
I feel tested on a daily basis. lol Luckily I was always a good speller.
Can't always type well though
I couldn't believe that Doug and I were on the edge of our seats (or the edge of the bed as the case may be)watching a spelling bee!!!!!!!!! What I couldn't understand is why so many of the words were foreign, I mean shouldn't they have been ENGLISH words???
We watched some of this. We kept trying to spell the words ourselves...we definitely would NOT have won!
I wonder if they all have to wear the same thing...I would love to show up in a halter top!
I didn't see any of it, but heard a bit about it on the news, including one of the words the one kid had to spell, a foreign word again, which annoyed me.
Stacy, I watched almost the entire thing and there were very few words that WEREN'T foreign, I couldn't figure it out!!!! What was the point!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to all the children to get up to such a high level!!! good for them! It doesn't really make a lot of sense to have foreign words int he national spelling bee though... Aren't there plenty of challenging English words to spell? When I heard the german word that the 3rd place gal got stuck on, that was a puzzler for me... I mean, I still have trouble spelling "prairie" most days!
I saw the last half of it. It was amazing!
