In a separate case, prosecutors accused a couple of robbing an Internet cafe also to raise money for a termination. Yangpu District prosecutors yesterday alleged that a 20- year-old man surnamed Qian and an 18-year-old woman surnamed Lin, stole more than 10 dogs, including an Old English Sheepdog worth 10,000 yuan (US$1,235), after Lin had an unwanted pregnancy. The unemployed couple then sold the dogs to pet stores and animal markets. Prosecutors said in February the pair stole an Old English Sheepdog from a pet store after pretending to the shop assistant they intended to buy it. They sold the dog for 5,000 yuan, and soon after Lin had an abortion, prosecutors said. On Monday, prosecutors from Minhan District charged Li Qiang and his girlfriend Wang Ni of stealing 10 computers worth 18,700 yuan and 2,200 yuan in cash from the Internet cafe they worked in. Prosecutors said the pair had fallen in love while working at the cafe and sought an abortion because Wang was three-month pregnant with another man's child. Li, a university student who worked part-time at the store, had asked the owner to advance him his salary but was refused, prosecutors said. They said on February 24 Li hired a minivan and made off with the computers as well as money from the cash register. The couple fled to Wuxi in neighboring Jiangsu Province and sold the computers for 10,000 yuan, prosecutors said. They were caught in Wuxi in March. I was wondering the same thing about the cost of the procedure. I had to have a D&C after one of my miscarriages which is basically the same surgery. I think I paid $2000...ok well my insurance paid. My roommate in college had an abortion and paid $250 at a clinic. I cannot believe she stole two OES  What a weird thing to do!
