Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

We are packing up and heading to Washington DC for the weekend to visit my son and his wife and to see their new house :) I haven't seen them since last summer and the wedding so I'm quite excited to be going. They just bought a house and are all kinds of excited about showing it off.

I just read another thread about in-laws so I'm hoping I can be a "Good MIL" :excited: This is my first official "MIL visit"!!!!

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend wherever you are and whatever you are doing!!!!!

Have a great time Ginny :) Are you taking the boys?
Have a great MIL official visit Ginny

Sounds like a great weekend catching up with your family, very exciting.

Who is doggie sitting or are the fur kids going to check out the new place too 8)

Happy memorial day weekend everyone, now need someone to tell me what the long weekend is for?????????
Lisa, it began as a day to honor all the soldiers lost in the Civil War but now includes all soldiers from every American war. Held on the last Monday in May most places have events like a parade in which veterans take an active role.
Aaah like our ANZAC day here, thanks Holly
Have fun and be safe....ENJOY!!!

Have a wonderful trip! I'm sure you are a wonderful MIL, Ginny. My husband is fortuante that he has a wonderful one, MY MOM!
Ty is going with us. Tasker is staying at a very nice kennel down the road. My son and his wife have a cocker spaniel and I didn't want to descend on them with dogs dogs dogs. Tasker is getting older and doesn't seem to like to travel like he once did and Ty is too spoiled a brat to leave anywhere (I think I'd have a hard time finding a kennel that would let him sleep on their pillow  ). Although the kennel Tasker is going to is where we left them last summer for the wedding and they did share their bed with Ty then!!!!
Have a great time, Ginny! :go: And if you pass by Alexandria, VA, wave to my baby boy for me!

I don't envy your drive there, though. The beltway is always brutal!

Don't forget to take pictures of the new house for us! Safe journey, friend.
Chris, my son sent me directions to get there that avoid the beltway, he said it's 40 miles farther but that it will be an hour shorter in the long run!!!! I too HATE the beltway.

I just dropped Tasker at the kennel :( I feel so guilty but I know in the long run it'll be better. I took his bed and toys and even took 4 gallons of OUR water...... I'm sure the lady thinks I'm nuts.......but maybe not, they raise bassetts and from the looks of their house the dogs rule the roost!!!!!
Have a fun trip! I was just in DC last weekend. While you're there can you find my brother an apartment so we can give him his cat back?!?

Drive safely!
Have a great time Ginny! I remember how excited we were last year to get our house! :clappurple: They must be just delighted :) Hope you have a great time down there
