Fletcher and His Mail

Fletcher called tonight and was telling me that he had gotten all these cards and pictures. He just kept saying from all over the US. California, New York, Indiana,Louisiana, Georgia.... ...He was so excited about receivng that much mail. He said his mail was the talk of the whole place. Some of the people there have been there for years and no one comes to see them and they don't receive mail often. So he said he was going to share his pictures and mail with all of them. So they are going to have a show and tell tomorrow morning. Thank You All So Much... Breaks My Heart..... Kaye

Kaye,

I am so glad to hear that he received the photos we sent and that it made him happy.

Is there anything else we can do?

Hugs and Prayers,
Kaye,
That is so wonderful that Fletcher was so excited. He must be the most popular guy in the place!
The show and tell should be fun for everyone and hopefully put some smiles on peoples faces.
That is really sad that so many people are there without visitors and mail.
If there is anything else we can do let us know.
We will keep them coming!!!! It's is such a small thing to do and I am so glad it has brought him some joy!
That's wonderful news, Kaye. I'm so glad he's enjoying his mail & the pictures. Show & Tell will be such fun for them! :D We'll have to do this again in a week or so to keep a steady flow of mail coming for him.
Can we put a lot of cards in one envelope and he can hand them out to others there??? It sounds like it is very exciting for all of them, and how cool would it be if we all kept the mail going to them for support.... PET THERAPY and pics are the best medicine around... any thoughts?
That's a nice idea, it's very sad when older people are alone :( If a simple card or picture could bring them some joy then why not? Kaye, does your husband have a birthday coming up? We could all send cards for that also.
There are 16 clients in the facility where he is at. The ones that I met will probally be there from now on in a rest home. Some of them are in wheel chairs and wear helmets to protect their heads. Some do walk but have problems with balance. I was there Mothers Day and there were no other visitors. So they really get excited when someone comes to visit. Fletcher's situation is different then most of them. He will be there at least 90 days depending on how well he does. Then we will make a decision then...... This is going to take quite a while to get him where he has some quality of Life... They are trying Very Hard to Help Him. He just wants to come home. Bless His Heart. Thank You All Again For Your Love and Support. Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
I love the idea of sending cards and pics to the other residents. Could we send mail to the "head people" and they could give it to the residents?
His Nurse or DR will call today and I will ask them how to send mail to the other clients. I know they remarked that he was the only one that receives mail....... They said the show and tell went over with a BANG.. A lot of them can't talk but they make sounds. SO I guess they were making Good Sounds. Breaks My Heart......Kaye
His birthday is Valentines Day. Kaye
Kaye,

I have a couple of small stuffed sheepies that I have gotten over the years. Can I send him one of those? Would they allow him to keep it in his room and most importantly would he like it?

Hugs and Prayers,
That is such a sweet idea!
please let me know the address where to send the pics and stuff. we would love to share pics and stories of Julie with Fletcher. :D Can't wait to hear from you!
Here is the address. I found it in another post
R.C. Fletcher, Brinlee Creek Ranch, 10057 County Road 472, Anna, Tx 75409
I talked to His Dr this morning. She said that the mail had really lifted everyone. What they are doing is sharing it with all the Clients. I am going to see him this next weekend. I am taking My Heart Barney to see him and the other Clients. HE is about 100 lbs but very gentle. So hopefully he won't scare them.....I am also taking Little Emily. Maybe if they can see that she has disabilites and is Ok they will feel better..... Again I really Appreciate All Your Support and Love For Fletcher..... Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
