Picninc THIS Saturday

I can't believe no one is talking about it!
The Philly picnic is this Saturday! WooHoo!!!!

Guess Jill and Holly missed the Last Chance Express because I just got a note that Jil is on the road. :go:
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
I'll be late and will probably miss everyone but Jil, but I'll be there!! Be sure to take lots of pics!!
I'm still waiting to see if I'll be able to take tomorrow off work. :( The auditors are late getting here (which is why I'm on the forum!!) but that's not a good sign for getting finished today. :(

Crossing my fingers.
Here hoping that the sun will shine and everyone will have a great time...

Brenda, Dudley and Murphy
Be safe and have a great time :) I'll be working until Friday afternoon  Take lots of pictures so you can rub it in that we couldn't go
We're finishing up the floor today and tomorrow so I couldn't leave James alone. :(

Holly and I will have to have a make up trip!
I'll be there with at least our 2 sheepdogs. (Still not sure if the husband & puppy will be going...) And the vow-renewal ceremony that I was supposed to attend that evening was cancelled, so now I don't have to leave early so I'll wait for you Chris!!!

Looks like so far the weather is looking good!
Deb, that's GREAT!! :yay: So now I'll still see Jil, Deb, maybe Tammy and maybe Mandy. Sorry to say, though, that we won't have Drez with us. We have to drop our daughter off at Philly airport for her flight to Spain, and it would just be too long to keep Drez in the car in her stiffened condition. I'm bummed about that, because I don't know if my little girl will still be around this time next year, but I can't put her through that.

ANYWAY - I'll see whoever stays late on Saturday!!

What time will you be passing through Philly? Maybe Drezzie could hitch a ride with me, Chum and Maggie? We have no plans afterwards so we'll be around when you get there. I'm really glad you and Dale will be able to make it despite your complicated day. . .
Thanks for the offer, Val, but I don't think it will work. The picnic starts at 11:00 and we're not leaving home until about 1:30-2:00. She has to be at the airport by 3 or so.

So tell me - how is the traffic down there going to the airport? Will we run into delays because of construction? Have to adjust our travel time based on that - ugh!
Awww too bad.

I just drove past the airport last weekend and did not notice any construction or delays. . .
I know they've been working on the on ramps for 476 so maybe you can just take the turnpike to Rt 76 then pick it up when it goes towards airport. Traffic hasn't been bad on the Schuykill except for the occasional accident.

Deb
Have FUN everyone and take LOTS of pictures!! :D
Is there information posted anywhere on what time it starts/ends, location/directions, etc?

And how do i convince my bf to drive me across the bridge to PA when he's already driving me to a match that morning? Hmm...

I hope i can make it!
Hey Jil, when you get to Mandy's please let us know that you got there safely.

Love, Mom :)
She called and said that she'd be here in 15 minutes but that was 3 hours ago. Do you think it was bad that the phone went dead and all I heard was "Oh no"?
You are so evil
You guys have a great time and have a big drink for all the poor working stiffs like me :(

And me. :( I'm working, too. We didn't even get close to finishing the full audit yesterday.
I am SO behind on my forum reading! Er.. this forum, not the Penthouse publication... just to clear that up...... ANYWAY, I hope everyone enjoyed the picnic as much as my family did! Thank you all for traveling out to be with us on what turned out to be a beautiful spring day! What a beautiful group of dogs we had! There were some BIG dogs there, and I must add, the coats on Deb's and Mandy's dogs are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing some grooming tips with us. I know a few people had trouble reaching me for info, maybe my Norton was at fault or my Forum settings, but feel free to contact me directly to get on the list for next year. My address is chad_roeger@verizon.net. Send it to me directly instead of through the "private message" route, as I did not receive notification from an earlier post. Well, I am looking forward to seeing lots of pictures, and lots of returning friends at next year's picnic! Thanks everyone!
I've created an album for the pics of the 2006 Philly Picnic!

http://photos.oes.org/thumbnails.php?album=24

People should be able to upload to that album now, and as I type there are 5 pics already!
Thanks Ron for fixing that! And Chad thanks so much for putting the event together. It was great hanging out with the forum folks.

Wonderful turn out, I just wish Frank wasn't so obnoxious, especially with his lust for Val's Maggie (it must have been her hair cut)! I don't know what got into him, but I cannot wait to get him neutered!

AND Bentley was an angel!! I hope your drive back to Michigan is/was a good one Jil!
Oh it was wonderful! It was a great turnout -- lovely people and so many adorable doggies!! It was terrific hanging out with forum pals and meeting new people too.

I only took a few pics too, which I will post probably tomorrow -- all were of the fancy grooming treatment as applied to handsome Bentley.

Re Maggie. . . I wonder if the boys were affected by the "dog affecting pheremone" I had pumping in the car. It is part of the ritual designed to keep Chummie from going bonkers when we drive . . . (It does seem to work)
sounds like ya'll had a great time. Our family is moving at the end of this month to pa. Can't wait to join ya'll next year or if you get together sooner let me know. Wish we could of been there! :D
Awww looks like a fantastic time, the pictures are great :D Can't wait to see some more, you & the sheepies look like you had a wow of a time.

Frank certainly did by the sounds of it  Love is in the air  :excited: :hearts:
Oh boy! I couldn't wait to see all the picnic pictures! More, please!! :D

I am so sorry we didn't get to come. I truly was in tears over it. I hated so badly to miss it. Not only did we not get the audit done on Thursday & Friday, but they're coming back today!!
How fun! I can't wait to see more pictures of all of you! And I can't wait until the IL picnic in just a few weeks! :D
I was so bummed that - once again - I had to miss the picnic. I'm beginning to feel like fate is always giving me some reason to miss it. :(
I did hear that it was a fantastic day, though!

We did stop by late to pick up Jil and still got to see Val and Chum and Maggie, and Deb and Frank and Rebecca. Rebecca is just the sweetest girl ever  , and Frank was definitely in love! :hearts: Chum and Maggie were their usual friendly selves, just doll babies, both of them.

And what can I say about Sir Bentley??? :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: He is the biggest sheepie I have ever seen, but what a personality on that boy! He sure loves his Mommy, and Jil has done a fantastic job with him!

I know I said this last year - but maybe NEXT year I'll be able to get there. Can't wait to see more pictures!! :excited:
I love the pictures so far. It's so weird to see what everyone looks like. Some people always turn out how you imagine and then others look totally opposite. :D I'm glad it was fun, and I wish I could have been there too. Esp with so many beautiful sheepies. :)
So who looks "right" and who looks different? AND I would just like to say, for the record, that I never wear sweatshirts in public but it was cold in the shade and I was desperate!
I'm not saying in these pics necessarily :) I just mean sometimes you envision the sweet subtle posters to have that sort of image and are surprised to find out they have pink hair. ...or someone who knows all about the hip bands turns out to be older than you imagined or in some cases younger and even the opposite sex! I seem to always have age wrong on this board, and I'm always surprised to hear about how many kids some posters have.
Looks like a fun time. I wish I was closer.
Can't wait to see more pictures!!! :excited:
Looks like you all had an awesome time! How do you get Frank to stay in those cages? Jasper breaks the fronts of them. We have one in the house, and he has destroyed it.

Frank/me didn't do so well as a puppy with crate training with one of those soft mesh crates... when I started doing the dog shows there were going to be times when he needed to be the crate so his breeder loaned us that metal one and for some reason, he really doesn't mind it at all.

I felt bad putting Frank in the crate at all that day but that was the only times he seemed to settle down and I was fighting him on the leash all day. It was such strange behavior because Toby was also acting badly, and I would say every female there was spayed, so maybe Valerie's pheromone spray was the culprit? Both intact boys were acting like there were dogs in heat around them...
Well, I got in at 3:00 this morning and why I'm at work right now, I couldn't tell you! At the last minute I decided to surprise our payroll person in White Plains, NY so the trip back was longer than planned, but it was worth it.

I've got a ton of pictures that I have to sift through tonight, if I can stay awake long enough.

All I can say now is that I had an EXCELLENT weekend!!
Jil, you are a drivin' fool!!!

Pictures, NOW!!!! To heck with sleep, who needs that? Why didn't you just take the pics to work to do? Do they actually expect you to do real work at this place you go to?
SO WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE PICTURES???

We are waiting with baited breath, it's TUESDAY ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did bring the camera . . . . but I forgot the cable!!!

Now I have to work, which pretty much sucks.

Tammy - we MISSED you!
Didn't anyone else take pictures besides Deb?

Yeah, really!!! I'm getting tired looking at my measly photos. Sorry I didn't take more. I was busy trying to hold back Frank trying to get to Maggie!

Thank you!! I MISSED being there!!!

I finally got rid of the auditors yesterday afternoon at 5:30. BUT, they left me a two page list of things they still want to see.

Glad you had fun, though!! Can't wait to see the pictures!! :D
I left my camera in the car and was too lazy to go back and get it so I'll just join in the chorus of, "Where are the rest of the pictures?!?!?"

Let's go people!
Signed:
Super Lazy
Auditors SUCK!!! I had them here for THREE weeks in January (that's after having them here for 3 weeks in September, too) and my goal is to have that reduced to two weeks for the 2006 audit. I've come to the realization that any list an auditor leaves is no shorter than 2 pages, so you got off easy, LOL.

------------------------

Wait till you guys see Bentley's show picture . . .

How's that for torture?!?!

I think that Mandy shouldn't be able to view any pictures since she's so lazy - anybody else agree?
Depends....how far away was the car??
50 yards? 100 yards? Something like that.

Keep in mind that we went back to the car twice for the grooming equipment.
OH!! That's ALL??? 8O

No viewing photos for Mandy, then!!
What the?
