squaring things away

Soooo....after a spot of trouble, things are finally starting to get squared away, to the point where i can once again be a forum troll and post now and then.

so, here goes:

problem: got rejected to like 9 grad schools.

solution: finally got accepted to an online one, i'm not thrilled that it's the only place that would take me, but a degree is a degree.

problem: couldn't find a job.

solution: finally found one. it sucks, and i'm leaving soon cuz i have to move home, but the money helped me not go into debt in the meantime.

problem: running out of money

solution: still in a shoddy situation here.

problem: needed some bill relief

solution: my parents are willing to let me move home, they always were, turns out i just had to swallow my pride and ask.

:D Welcome Back! Of course you were missed and I'm glad things are getting put back together for you.
Welcome back! :)

Hang in there Ed :)
Welcome back!!!!! :yay:

Sorry things were going a bit off track for you, but happy things are getting together...sort of... :cow:
Ed,
Sorry things have been so rough for you.
I hope things start going your way.
Don't feel bad about going home to Mom and Dad.
I've been there myself. It really help me get on my feet.
Welcome Back!
Parents are cool.
I agree with Ron - parents are cool! :high5: Not too prejudiced since I AM one, but just the same . . .

Welcome back! :go: Glad to hear things are loosening up for you a bit. There's no shame in moving home for awhile until you can get yourself back on track, and I'm sure your parents would prefer that over you getting yourself deeper in debt because you're too proud to move home. It's only temporary.

What are you going for a grad degree in?

And how is Jack?
Cool parents 8)

Cool Ed :)

Welcome back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
Ed, that's what parents are for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter (about your age) just came home for a brief 48 hour visit. In that 48 hours I took her shopping for clothes (she didn't have any), bought her contact lenses (she was out), co signed a student loan for her, and gave her $$$$$$$, kissed her on the check and with a tear in my eye saw her off, back to Utah at 6AM this morning.

Do it again? You betcha, in a heartbeat. It's moments like that that us Moms live for!!!

Welcome back!! I'm glad your parents are able to help!
You kissed her on the check?

AAAAhhahahahahahahaaha!
Ed, I for ONE missed your Outspoken Attitude.sometimes Crappy Attitude.....I just happen to like people that are Little Tilted is I may say. What Doesn't Kill Ya Makes You Stronger!!!!!! I Can Lift an Elephant Now...... OOPS West Texas Doesn't Have any ELephants but you, Kaye get the point.......Welcome Back, Kaye

Way to ruin a moment, Ron!

Ed, school rejections suck, but they happen. I've had my fair share. That's awesome that your parents will let you move in. My parents let me come home for a while too when I needed it. I think there is some statistic that like 60% of college grads live with their parents for some period of time...

Welcome back!
Welcome back!! I've missed your unique perspective. I'm impressed by how you are steadily working through these challenges. Hooray for your parents too. :)

YUP!!!

I think I see an American express Add here:

Plane ticket home $500.00
Lunch at the airport 32.00
Clothes 201.37
Contact lenses 99.00
Cash to get her
to her first summer
paycheck 200.00
Student Loan You don't even want to know

A mothers love Priceless :hearts:

Hmmmmmmm, I detect a trend..... it seems my life is made up of American express ads (flashback for those who rememer to the e-bay print for my son)!!!!

Ed, enjoy letting them help while they can!!!!
Awww Ed...I missed you too! I had to laugh at Kaye's candid remarks  I also miss your quirky remarks in the chat room..

That's what parents are for....Ginny, my mom did the same thing right when I was out of college...except she came to me...bought me grocerys, had my carpet cleaned, took me shopping and cryed when she left! I LOVE mommy's!
Parents who help are precious and rare...(I don't have that luxury, both mine kinda ignore I exsist). I am a good kid, never made any trouble, but was raised by grandparents instead.

Kids who grow up and need their parents, and honestly respect them, and help to repay them back somehow...even mowing the lawn, those deserve it, and that is even more priceless.

Moochers however...need to stop being lazy and stop taking advantage.

Ed you should be proud of yourself, it sounds like you are really trying to handle things on your own, and knowing that your parents are there....give them an extra big hug and do the dishes. Good luck with the degree and job search.

Ron just pointed out my "freudian slip"

I MENT TO SAY, kissed her on the CHEEK and sent her on her way  . But perhaps considering the visit, check WAS more appropriate
I cried too
