Questions about eBay

Has anyone ever had a problem getting their stuff or contacting a seller? I bought some garden stakes and sent a money order on April 24, never got them. I've contacted the seller twice to make sure she recieved payment, no reply. Is this common? I finally broke down and got a paypal account through my checking account, do I need to use a debit card with it? Also, an item I'm bidding on does not appear on my eBay page with the rest, I contacted them and they told me I'm not bidding on anything. I currenting have 6 items that I'm winning, they don't seem to understand the question 8O HELP!

Where is Nita - she's the expert on e-bay - I'm sure she'll be on later - hope your stuff comes through soon
If it doesn't appear on your e-bay page you have a problem. For some reason your bid did not register. Do you have an e-mail confirming your bid?

As far as the item you have not received, it has been long enough that I would think you should have received some response. I would send a third and FINAL email telling them that if they do not respond within 48 hours you are going to lodge a complaint and leave negative feedback. If you have paid through Paypal I would see if you can cancel the pay pal payment til the dispute is resolved.

I have always had very good luck with e-bay but I am always very careful to check a sellers feedback forum before doing business.

To some degree, it is common. Usually it's miscommunication or the seller knows they sent it and is hoping it will arrive any day, so there's no reason to reply. I would write again and say that you really want to know where the product is. That if it doesn't arrive, you'll have to leave negative feedback and contact ebay. I'd mention that you'd hate to see someone with a good score (i'm assuming you only buy from people with near perfect ratings... b/c if not, there's a lesson to be learned) go down. Then you plan to take further action so that you get your money back. I'd end it with "I really don't want to do this, but if there is a problem with the shipping....I need to know because I expect a refund and reply within the next few days."

Every time I've sent of of those emails... I've gotten my crap or a reply back.

I assume there is a record of them taking your money whether it be on your debit card, paypal, or check? If so, I would just send that to EBay (help section should lead you to the correct email address to write).

I'm ruthless, and will go ALL OUT when I don't get my crap.

If you're set up with your checking account and everything is running smoothly.. you do not have to add additional accounts.

By "you've contacted them" do you mean EBay or the seller? I assume you mean seller? When I was relatively new to EBay there were times I thought I was winning, "but I wasn't." Does your name appear as the winning bid on the page with item you're bidding on? If not, you are no longer the highest bid. It's time to bid again. ;)

If you're really worried, ride the auction out. Wait until it's over. If you won.. then that's what you wanted/intended already right? You will get a email in the mail telling you to pay.

If you didn't win.. there was no harm done. You can now bid on a different listing.
Hope it works out, some sellers are just SLOW about shipping. How's their feedback? I'd contact Ebay. Always use paypal, they protect your purchases. My husband has a co-worker who just paid over $600 for a trolling motor (?), and he paid with a money order. The seller didn't ship him the item, the phone number doesn't work, and he's just out of luck. Ebay did send him $200 though. Hard lesson for him to learn. :(
I had a problem about a year ago. The seller would not answer e-mails.
Some of the other buyers contacted me, seems he wasn't living up to what he promised as far as bonus items. One had the guys phone number and gave it to me. I filing a complaint with paypal, then contacted the seller. I told him I would be happy to drop the dispute if he would send me the items that I paid for. (I had bought a pair of Andis Clippers, that was supposed to come with 5 extra blades. He never sent the extra blades....after speaking with him and holding the complaint over his head he promptly sent the blades.)

Paypal is the way to go.... That way if you don't get what you ordered you will get your money back.

I would contact ebay. Maybe they can help.
My ex used to call me "the Ebay queen." And I am. My advice is to be a little more patient. It's only been a little over 2 weeks since you sent the money order. Maybe the USPS was slow and the seller didn't get the m.o. until a few days ago. And sometimes sellers are just pokey about shipping stuff. Maybe the seller didn't respond to your e-mail because s/he is out of town. I'd give it a few more days before you take any "official" action.

And Paypal rocks.

According to the description page I'm the only bidder so I am winning. When I contacted eBay about it not appearing they replied that I'm not bidding on anything currently when I'm actually bidding on 6 other items. I've never gotten an e-mail confirmation from anyone, didn't even know I should have :?
You should get an e-mail off e-bay confirming all bids.

Plus all your bids should show up on your page if they are not showing up something is wrong.
bestdogsx4, you should maybe change your profile settings. Just go through each of the settings and fix them how you like. There will be one that allows you to get emails when you bid on something, when you've won, when someone has outbid you, etc. Also, check to see if they have the correct email address. There are times people have really old ones listed.

Also, is it possible that you're bidding on an item that hasn't met its reserve price? Just wondering because if so.. then to the seller, they may look at it as "no one is winning yet." Doesn't sound like that's the case, but just a thought. :)
Yeah your my.ebay.com page is customizable as to what you can show.

I'm sure you've tried, but there's a link on the left that says "All Buying". If you click on that...

Also , make sure you don't have two different IDs by accident!
Hello there,I consider myself as an expert e-bayer!!LL!

I have had troubles w/ getting items paid for.If you have emailed them 2times w/ no responce Id open up a dispute w/ this seller.Usually this ges the seller too act on it.It is irritating how the seller wants his/her money NOW,but then drags his/her feet on shipping.

When I have won an item for very cheap, like I won a pair of baby phat jeans for $3.00 w/ shipping it was $10.00,well the seller clamied they never recieved my payment (i paid w/ a money order)after about a week of dealing w/ this person i opened up a dispute, also I found out my money order had been cashed 3weeks prior too me opening up a dispute. Finally I did get my jeans, and they are awesome!!

So I wouldnt play around w/ them,if its been a while w/ no responce open a dispute, and w/ you paying w/ pay pal that will be alot easier for you.

Good luck let me know what happens.
I really like to use Ebay but I'm very picky about who I bid with. I always look to see if they will take an item back if something was wrong with it, etc. I think the feedback option for you is really good. Fortunately my e-mails have been answered when I wrote to the sellers, so I'm not exactly sure what else I would do in your situation except contact Ebay about the seller. GOOD luck - hopefully it is just a matter of a slow sender or an in-frequent e-mailer. :?
Yes Holly I am having the same sort of problem at the moment. Paid for something on the 8th April through paypal. Had not arrived and last monday sent an e-mail to the seller, no reply, sent another 24 hours later with a threat that if she does not answer my e-mail I will report it to ebay and paypal for an undelivered item. FINALLY got an answer back with some excuse saying she will post it today, which was two days ago. SO if it comes it will be another 2 weeks to reach here. That will make it nearly 2 months since I paid for the item. I am giving this person till the end of May and if I don't receive it will report it.

First time I used this seller and her feedback had 2 negative comments on her feedback in 12 months so we shall see what happens. :?
I got my garden stakes today, they are so cute that I can't be upset it took so long. I'll try all the suggestions, thanks :)
I am so happy you got them. 8)
Elissa, your avatar is wonderful, what a happy (and good looking) couple! And he cooks too   Lucky girl.
