No good deed goes unpunished-III

On Saturday morning, I took Joan to the airport. She's in Chicago for a trade show. I'm not 100% yet, and Joan normally takes care of Mulligan, walks and feeding, but I was looking forward to taking care of him and being forced to get out of the house 3 or 4 times a day.

Today I put a load of laundry in, and it had completed. I had just finished posting on the forum, when I decided that it was time to toss it into the dryer. Mulligan is now following me around everywhere and as I was headed towards the laundry room, his leash came into site.

I thought, what the heck, let's go out back for a little bit. So I grab his leash and tell him to come along and we go out the back door into our yard.

Long story short: Mulligan finds a nice steaming pile of turkey droppings (I assume...) and proceeds to roll around in it covering the top of his back at the withers, and around both of his shoulders down to the knee. I Brought him in and directly put him in the bathtub - boy did it have a FOUL (FOWL?) stench!!!

I gave him a bath and notice that the skin on the top of his head, behind one eye and in front of one ear are nearly bloody raw. I had seen him scratching and had looked for something earlier but found nothing bothering him.

So I put some hydrocortisone on him... but it was ointment and not cream and now his hair is all matted with the oils from the ointment.

Next?

Turkey droppings? Do you have a lot of wild turkeys in your yard? That's something I'd never even think of!

Firstly, poor Miligan hope the ear gets better, secondly, you live where ???
Can we switch your name from Ron to Murphy? It seems to be your law that keeps raising it's ugly head!

You planning on visiting me while Joan is away? LOL

I live about 30 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
At least he's not eating it, My parent's dog has taken a liking to Goose Poop. Considering they live on a lake and all of the Canadian Geese are coming back, Casey's acting like its an all you can eat buffet.
EWWWW!!!!
Eek...just can't have a break lately, huh?

How come our Canadian Geese never leave? They are hanging out at my office still, no sign of leaving (and they aren't very nice)...shouldn't they be back in Canada by now?
They never leave.
Someone needs to tell them they are supposed to go back to Canada.
I actually think there are probably more Canadian Geese here then in Canada. They are so dirty!!!
The Geese should be back, maybe they're just to fat to want to fly back home.
Poor Ron and Mulligan! Joan, hurry back!

Those darn geese are EVERYWHERE!!! They are here year round. They make nests near the curbs and then expect everyone to give them the right of way when they fell like walking across the street. It's like an obstacle course when we go for a walk...poop over here, poop over there...and then they have the nerve to squack at us

Aren't they a protected species? WHY????!
Wow, Ron! It can only get better from here - we hope!!!

Bet Joan will be SO disappointed that she missed this little antic of Mulligan's! :phew:
"Disappointed" can't begin to describe how she feels. LOL
Canadian geese don't all migrate. We lived in Ft. Collins Colorado and enjoyed the birds who had taken up permanent residence there. The city logo reflected the avian population. It was fine except if you lived near a lake where the birds resided or when they flew low overhead.........splatt!

As for rolling in goooo, Fox Pyr gets it in his mind to roll in dog poop every once in awhile or any stray animal that has crossed thru and dumped. eeewww! He's too big to wash in the tub so we just spot wash.

Well, Joan will be home tonight, so any more rollings she can clean up...her turn!
