Doggie birthday party recipe needed

Ava's party is Wednesday - any ideas what I could make for the doggies? (I have the human food covered)

Cookies!!

Holly gave me a great recipe for doggie cookies that are the wigglebums' favorites.

2 cups wheat flour
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, then add wet ingredients. Mix until a dough consitency is formed.
Place dough on a flat service and roll out with a rolling pin to about 1/4" thickness. Cut into cookie shapes. (I use a dog bone cookie cutter).
Place on a ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 14-17 minutes.

Store refrigerated.

Enjoy!!
Guinness' bday is coming up next week :bdcake: and he loves pumpkin and yogurt. Does anyone have any treat recipes with either ingredient?
I have that recipe they are great, everytime I cook anything with peanut butter the dogs think its their cookies.
I've got a recipe book at home with doggie treats in it. Unfortunately, I can't get online tonight to give you a recipe. Will tomorrow morning be too late to help you for your party? :?
That would be great! His birthday is on Monday, so I planned on baking this weekend.

He does like peanut butter also. (I forgot to mention earlier that he does  )

Thanks!
Well, this particular book does not have anything with pumpkin in it. I know I've seen other recipes using it, but I don't have one handy.

I do have a recipe that uses yogurt to make pupsicles, though.

Here's one for doggie cupcakes.

3 cups water
2 carrots, shredded
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons honey
2 ripe bananas, mashed
4 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. In a large mixing bowl, blend the water, carrots, egg, vanilla and honey. Add the mashed bananas.
3. In a separte bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
4. Pour the flour mixture into the carrot mixture and mix thoroughly.
5. Spray a 12-cupcake pan with nonstick spray
6. Fill each cup about 3/4 full
7. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
8. Cool before serving.

(I use banana baby food instead of mashed bananas and it works just as well.)
I made liver brownies before work this morning. Marley has class tonight (weather permitting) and we were out. they are exceptionally quick and easy and I haven't met a dog yet that doesn't love them.

1.5 lbs liver
2 eggs
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (I also have used wh wheat pancake or "quik mix)

Puree the liver in teh blender, add the two eggs (even with shells) process; add the flour process.

I bake it in a brownie pan at 350 for 1/2 an hour. what I really like is that although the recipe calls for them to be cut into shapes, i can cut them into very little pieces for LAT or other training. they also crumble well for when I want them to spend a little more time picking up all the pieces.
The dogs love the liver stuff, but I cannot abide working with it. I tried. I really did. I made liver biscotti for them one time. I thought I'd never get that stuff out of my blender. The smell & texture made me gag. The smell while it was baking made me leave the house. The wigglebums loved it.

So, if you ever want to bake some extra and send it their way, I'll trade you peanut butter cookies.
I put the outake fan on and went up to take a shower. I agree about the Yuck factor but the dogs love them and they are really convenient.

I left the food processor soaking in a tub of water and will bput it in the dishwasher tonight.

Now if dan doesn't go home and try to eat them because they do look like brownies sitting on the top of the stove ...... 8O  8O
What about homemade Frosty Paws:

Frosty Paws
32 oz. vanilla yogurt
2 Tbsp. honey
2 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 large banana, or 1 large jar of banana baby food
Blend all ingredients together. Pour into small paper cups and freeze.

Remove cups before serving.

I use the bathroom paper cups. My guys love them.
I make these too in the warm months, Betsy. My wigglebums adore them, too. I use the small plastic Dixie cups as well. Just be sure to put them on a cookie sheet or something similar when you put them in the freezer or they'll tip over & make a mess. (voice of experience talking here  )
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that part. So you too know how much fun it is to scoope up frozen (or not) frosty paws from the bottom of the freezer.

whats wrong with liver???? 8)
Wow, thanks for the recipes. Guinness is going to love his birthday this year!

Sorry, but I think that I will pass on the liver one. I don't like meat ... I even get a little queasy having to buy any of it for my husband.

But I know that he will just love the cupcakes and frosty paws! Thanks again!

great - much cheaper than buying them!! two questions, 1)why do you take the paper cups off? WHen I give mine Frosty Paws they lick the cups clean!
2) do you always use banana? I hate bananas and would prefer to use something else if I could.
What does your dog like? Maybe smushed sweet potatoes or pumpkin instead of bananas? Cooked carrots? Applesauce? Oatmeal? Actually you could use whatever your dog likes.
True, Susan, you could use another fruit or veggie that your dog prefers. I don't take the cups off before serving either. They're usually licked clean and left for me to pick up. :)
Thanks for all of the recipes! The treats were a big hit...especially the frosty paws and the cookies. Guinness keeps running to the refridgerator and looks back at me. If I ignore him, he will come to me, whine and run back to the fridge. As soon as I open the fridge door, he sticks his big ole' head in and sets it down on the container of cookies! Who said that he is a little spoiled  ?! The best thing is that it was snowing so hard last night--usually they want to stay out in the snow and play, but they wanted to get back in the house and get their new cookies! (I didn't have all of the snow balls to clean up each time they went out!)

Anyway, the birthday treats were a big success and those cookies were so easy to make-Thanks!
Great! I'm glad they enjoyed them. Beaureguard is so spoiled to those cookies he always turns his nose up to store bought treats. I'm sure Guinness will be the same way soon. :D
I don't remove the cup either. My two just leave it clean or me. That was just on the recipe I use. The cheaper part is the reason I make them instead of buying them. Glad everything went well.
