Piddles in the bed.....

Yes, Ava has done this intermittently since I got her. The night we brought her home she piddled on the bed. I thought it was just a "puppy in a new place" thing. Well, she's done it a couple more times since then. If she needs to go out and lets us know we always take her - we also take her out when she doesn't tell us  She turns one next week and she should be housebroken by now - at least I would think so - but the other night - when I wasn't looking - I came into the bedroom and noticed a puddle on the comforter again. Help!?!?!?!?

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HELP, BUT RELATE AND AS WELL NEED THE ADVICE. OLIVE DOES THIS TOO THOUGH SHE IS 5 MONTHS NOW, BUT STILL IS NOT POTTY TRAINED. I FEEL FOR YOU AND YOUR DRY CLEANING BILL. MY COMFORTER HAS BEEN CLEANED SO MUCH IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I WILL SAY I HAD ENOUGH AND OLIVE SLEEPS IN A CRATE FROM NOW ON. SHE IS COOLER THERE AND ALL SLEEP BETTER IN THE END. IT TOOK A WEEK OR SO FOR HER TO PUT UP A FIGHT. NOW SHE GOES RIGHT IN AND WE ARE ALL HAPPIER
Ava sleeps in her crate also - and she seems very happy in there - the piddling usually happens in the middle of the day or early evening....actually....she has no preference for time
My thought is to close the door or put up a gate to your room so she can't get to the bed.
I agree... if she isn't reliable with potty training in that area, then she can't be allowed in there. Crate her at night, and keep the door closed during the day to help her prevent accidents. Also keep encouraging her for proper elimination with small treats and lots of praise!!!
We have thought about doing that but I just feel like I'm being a mean mommy - she likes to snuggle in the bed with me when we watch tv at night before she goes into her crate.

I guess I'm just wondering if maybe it's some other issue - like a territorial thing or somthing?
The first time may have been a whoops puppy thing. But now she still smells it and thinks it's okay to keep doing it. The comforter and sheets may have been washed but she can probably still catch a smell off of the mattress.
Check the area with a black light and treat with an enzymatic cleaner to totally get rid of it.
Before you allow her on the bed, you might take her outside to potty. If the "well has run dry", maybe the sheets will stay dry too

If the problem continues you might check for struvite crystals or an infection. (Just take a sample in and ask them to check it.) This can cause them to potty in undesirable places.
