Rest in Peace, Pandy, 1993-2006

Goodbye, Boobala. You were a special girl from the day you came home. I know you hung on as long as you could. Mommy needed you and you her. You told us yesterday that it was time to go. We watched as you laboriously tried to breathe and then when you rested in peace. You looked so sweet as if you'd met up with your best friend, Kookla.

You and I always had a love-hate relationship like sisters. I pestered you at times when you just wanted to be alone. I'm sorry if I annoyed you, I was so used to the cuddly sheepdogs and didn't realize you had a different type of personality. You know I loved you very much and tried to be patient and kind. Sometimes it was just so hard since both of us had health issues.

I do remember you as a pup and us dancing to "My Sherona" and going for walks to visit the duckies. Once your legs started to hurt and your allergies got bad, we didn't go out as much. You saw me through some horrible boyfriends until Steve came along. You trusted him like no other and accepted him as part of the family. Besides Mom and I, he was the only other person who you trusted to walk with.

Your blindness 3 years ago was the most difficult for all of us. Mom took great care of you as you struggled to get through the day. People told her that it was time then, but we knew different. You still enjoyed eating, seeing dog friends and babies, the car and going to Petsmart. I'm sorry I wasn't around more, but it was so hard for me to see you like that. You do know that I love you.

Goodbye, Monkey Eyes (Pandy). We love you!!! :hearts:

She started out as both of ours. After our last sheepdog died, I talked Mom into another dog. I was about 19 yrs old at that time. Mom said no more sheepdogs because of the weight issue and the arthritis. So I asked the vet and he recommended a Tibetan Terrier. Off we went to a breeder's house in Mundelein to check it out. Well, check it out we did and Mom gave a deposit. Pandy loved Mom's red nail polish and the breeder said that Pandy had been very cautious about everyone else who came to see her. That was why Pandy was the last pup there to find a home...she was selective. I was home a lot when Pandy was a pup as I was going to community college just around the corner. However, Mom did more of the "Mommy" things for Pandy and bonded with her better. Also, Mom didn't have the energy to discipine Pandy so she was babied and got away with a lot. She preferred Mom to her mean Big Sister (Me). I moved out of Mom's condo about 4 yrs ago when I became engaged. Thus, Mom was Pandy's sole caregiver. I feel sad for Mom because now she really is alone.

THANK YOU, RON! As this thread meant so much to Mom and me, Ron looked high and low for the postings so that I wouldn't need to repost it. My message was filled with so much emotion at the time that I didn't know if I could recreate it. I know your responses meant so much to Mom as she saved the link in order to view it in the future. She is doing okay, but it very lonely. It will take her awhile to adjust. Lots of love from us!
Stacy and Mom,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, each sheepie that passes from our arms have special places in our hearts. Be strong, the pain will lessen in time. I know this to be true, Tyler went to the Bridge in December and while I miss him deeply each day, the pain is less and the joy of having known him is more present.

Tylersmom
Your memories will stay alive in your hearts and time will help heal the pain. When we lost our Dante, we made a wind chime in his memory, and each time it jingles, it reminds us he is thinking of us too!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours!
Stacy, it's funny that you call Pandy "Boobala", that is what I call Ty. I have no idea where I got it from or what it means it just popped out one day and stuck. Is it a REAL WORD? Where did I get it???????
Stacy, I remember you talking about your mom's dog when we had dinner that night, and how much she meant to her. I am very sad for your loss.

I thought it had some type of Yiddish meaning so I looked it up on a Yiddish website to confirm. I had the spelling incorrect.

Buebele means darling! (usually applied to children) (American Jewish) bubele boob'∙eh∙l .

I also ran a quick Google search of the way I was spelling and came up with some interesting meanings on a website called Urban Dictionary. Here are some of the definitions given to "boobala"; I'm going with #1:

1. boobala: Buddy, friend, chum, derogatory and chummy in nature

2. boobala: The Adam's Family Gomez would call his wife Morticia a term of endearment "boobala" and vice versa.

3. boobala: n. Vulgar Slang: A woman's breast.

4. boobala: a languidly lascivious lover (female) well endowed in the chest department and of warm and friendly disposition
8O I'll go with the Yiddish or meaning #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Stacy and Your Mom,

I am so very sorry for your loss. The grief can be overwhelming. I am so sorry you are going through this.
Goodbye, Boobala darling, at least you are in no more pain and now in a happy place smiling down on your mummy xx
I want to memorialize Pandy in this thread. She was probably a bit older in this photo and needed a grooming, but she was always a beautiful girl with monkey eyes.
