Jumping Stairs

I think I posted about this, but I can't seem to find it. Probably due to the crash! Fozzie is now a daredevil in addition to being a turkey. He was being a monster again last night. He knocked over a gate in the kitchen and ran up to our bedroom to be with me. I had been trying to stretch and relax after being traumatized by him for 2 1/2 hrs. I HAD ENOUGH! I attempted to get him back down the stairs, but he either jumped (probably) or slid and landed with all four legs outward. He then kept trying to get up and would fall back down. Of course, I started crying and Steve wasn't home (things seem to always happen without him). My poor Turkey seemed to wonder what the heck was going on, but he didn't cry. He is okay today and seems to be walking around just fine. Please be careful pups!

Yes. I had previously posted about a show dog I had that broke her leg falling down a flight of 4/5 steps.
Ahhhhhh... glad the lil guy is okay!!

Yuki has fallen down a few steps before. More like stumbles... She'll get so excited (at the top of the stairs) ...jump up, and lose her balance. Scary, but it doesn't phase her.

I remember when YUki was a puppy. She was ....not so bright. She would be sitting on the couch and not realize over and over again that she will fall backwards if she walks close to the edge, tries to play on her back, or just randomly plops her butt with her back to the edge of the couch. My mom and I never thought she'd learn ...after SEVERAL falls.
Barney usually jumps from the second or third step to the bottom and more than once he's crashed either into the door or ended up splayed like Fozzy...
Just try to discourage crazy behavior near the stairs, but other than that, I don't think a little jumping will be that bad...(And yes, accidents can happen, but I think for the most part they'll be fine.)
None of my dogs have ever been allowed to go upstairs to the upper level or downstairs to the basement. I just never let them so they never try.
They have no problem going up or down the three steps of our deck.
Our family has never let our dogs go upstairs, I don't really know why, but it's just something I do too now I guess. LOL
I have lots of sympathy for you, but not much advice. Pippin is very good on stairs, takes them at normal speed up and down, never skips a step. In fact, I think he is more careful then the ctas are going up and down those things! Even when he's chasing one of the girls he always comes to a screeching halt on the stairs, carfeully acsends, then goes back to chasing the cat... of course by that time he's lost them, but oh well!
