Newsflash! From 1906

Here's an interesting article from the Bristol Phoenix from 1906

"Three English Sheep dogs the property of James A Garland
arrived from New York by express this morning and
were taken to Mr Garland's farm on Prudence Island.

The dogs are valued at seven thousand dollars , and were
first prize winners at dog shows in New York.

They have long, shaggy grey and white hair and are about the
size of a sheep"

My word- 7K that works out to about $2500.00 for a dog at the turn of the century... that is a TON of money!!!!! I'm not good with inflation but that seems like at least 20-30K now, probably even more... wow!

They must have really small sheep in Phoenix or they were GIANT dogs! Maybe that's why they were so expensive...
