Bonjour! new member from France ;)

hi!
I'm really happy to have found your forum. Indeed, I'm french, and on the french web, I didn't find any forum about this wonderful breed!
I don't have an OES yet but I hope to have one soon. For the moment I don't have garden and I need to find a job which could help me to take care of my future dog ;)
So I will have a lot of questions, and I hope you will answer me. It isn't easy for me to speak only in english about dogs, but I'll try, and I love this langage so, if you are quite nice with me, it will be great!

Hi and welcome!
Welcome! I think you are the first member from France! (Ron can confirm, right Ron?) Looking forward to stories, pictures, etc.
Bonjour Mafu!

I was born in France, but immigrated to Canada with my parents as a six year old. If I saw you in person we'd be able to converse quite well as I speak and understand the language. Although I'm not very good at writing or reading French, as I did all my schooling in Canada. On the West Coast where I live French isn't spoken often as it is in the East.
A few years ago (2000) I lived for a few months in Paris as I retain a duel citizenship. Who Knows? Maybe we'll get the chance to meet in person one day!

Welcome to the forum and glad you decided to join us! Valerie was right, I think you are the only person from France that has joined, although we have several from other European countries and some from as far Australia and Peru.

You did a great job with your English so please feel free to join in the conversations and ask any questions.

Which area of France are you located? I was born in Nancy but grew up in this little village http://membres.lycos.fr/gerard/ before moving to Canada. My relatives live in Moulin and Nice.

wahou! :D what a nice welcome! For sure I will often come to participate to your conversations and ask many questions ;)
I am quite proud to be the first french member here! 8)
I have to congratulate some of you for your french language! :clappurple:
To answer to some of your questions, I learnt english at school and university for 12 years. And I like english very much, so it's a pleasure for me to be here with you. And it's great to see that this forum is international! Thanks to the OES which is an international dog! I thank you for your nice words about my english, it makes me turn
I have to say that I always lived with a dog at home (I am 26 years old). Scotty is the family dog, it's a colley (I don't know if it is the english word for this breed, he looks like "Lassie" but in dark color), he is 11. I love this dog, he is very clever! he makes me love dogs and more particularly sheepdogs. But I don't live in my parents home now, so I miss Scotty and I miss a dog, they are wonderful friends.
I love the OES because of his nice personality, they love humans and give a lot of love and affection. I like the "clinging vine" dogs (did I use the right word? ). And I prefer dogs with a lot of hair, they looks like bears. And I hope to have an OES one day!
Marianne, you have a very interesting story! Furthermore, with my boyfriend (Matt) we have the project to go to Canada and to work there during 1 or 2 years. Matt has already been in the West part of Canada (in "Les Rocheuses"), and he really enjoyed his trip! we love your country, and we would like to live in Quebec, it's a child dream for me. So I am really happy to meet you here. I live in Britain (Bretagne) on the channel coast, it's a wonderful and beautiful place. I know Nancy, my brother studied there and I have a little part of my family in this area, but I don't know your little village. I know an area not far from Nice which is Toulon, and Hyères, on the coast, it's beautiful. I hope to meet you one day, maybe in Canada? ;)

Thank you again for your welcome, it's a real pleasure to communicate with everybody here
Welcome to our first French member! Your English is better than many Americans :)
Hi Mofu,

Glad you are so far enjoying the visits here to the forum. It's a very friendly place as you can see from all your greetings.

I'm not suprised you didn't know the village as it's not usually on maps..as only 200 people lived there when I did..but hey..the population has since doubled to 400!! :D

I hope you get a chance to live out your dream and come to Canada. (Mine was to live in France as an adult for a period of time so that's why I lived in Paris a few years ago.) I may get a chance to go again this year but now it's harder for me to travel with all my pets.

I'm sure you're going to be visiting this forum time and time again as it's such a friendly place, full of nice people.
